Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Saw Buckley upstairs tonight. He was limping about. The knee is in a brace. Heard Healy will be 6-8 weeks with fracture, but Tom shouldn't be too long. Hopefully anyway.

Great game and result. Atmosphere was electric. Roll on next week!

The stats on this page show a fairly dominant performance by Connacht.
The relatively high missed tackle percentage may be a good reason to keep the ball in had rather than kicking away possession.

The relatively high missed tackle percentage may be a good reason to specifically train about this next week. We have to reach we what were able to do last season at our best. 85% tackling rate is a minimun to hope a win against Toulouse.

just the same as last season ; not that bad

Bealham is 100%going id say unless injured. Very valuable player when your squad size is limited

Depends on how many guys are going.. If there's only 5 props, slight chance he could escape from it. If they are 6, game over, we're good to go all november with 20 y.o O'Donnell...

gotta say that win made up for the rainy trip to Llanelli 2 weeks agao :D
8 weeks according to the Indo. The same for Healy.

i heard 5-6 weeks for Buckley, no surgery needed which is huge positive
Healy 8 weeks alright. Don't know about Tom.

McKeon went of injured, Carty seemed to go off injured, but then again thought he went off injured last time aswell and turned out he was grand- maybe its just the way he walks off the field :P

Fingers crossed that Marmion, Roux and Robb be available for Toulouse though

Arguments for Dillane at 6 and Roux and Browne in second row. While Roux and Dillane our two best locks, Browne is best at the "Muldowney role" which gets backline going. You'd really need Roux out there against the Toulouse pack

Thank god if you're right about Buckley. He's the kind of guy healing fast, so why not 4 weeks and on the bench when Bealham goes to the US
And don't steel MY argument, I'd rather have put it here in midweek, to have distraction at work :p

No problem, we won't have any reaction anyway because of the "little provinces" game, Leinster vs Munster ;)

42 min. Galwegians Conan O'Donnell stretched off. Fortunately does not look serious. Applause rings out for big contribution.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,542 ✭✭✭FACECUTTR

Heffernan was simply fantastic which was a welcomed surprise. Browne fills the Muldowney roll wonderfully but I'm a little worried about his injury profile. Ronaldson brought stability and calmness to the midfield. Carey has already surpassed JP as back up TH. I like the look of Staceys cameo. Would definitely like to see 60 minutes of him.

Anyone got any ballpark idea when:

    a) Wasps v Connacht 11th Dec in Coventry and
    b) Connacht v Munster 31st Dec in Galway

tickets will be going on sale? Don't want to miss out on either.

Any news about Soroka's foot injury?
3 weeks before Robertson-McCoy comes back, and 3 weeks before Bealham goes off to the US. Will be tight...

    Champions Cup round 3 : December, 11th

I can bet you Buckley will be there, probably even 3 weeks before..

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,965 ✭✭✭connachta

Well let's face it : scrum isn't imperial this season, can't be better without Buckley
Yes Carey had a proper pre-season praparation (warn-up with Finlay in France in August, playing 2/3 games in AIL in September, progressive step-up Edinburgh, Ulster and now Toulouse.
    Though, Bealham just switched back to LH, Conor has only 2 caps in a top-side team ;
and above all, Toulouse gain 2 balls on opposite introduction and 7 pens at scrum time, away to Clermont yesterday:'(
If we lose 1/3 of our lineouts and the same for scrums, we won't make it
I do think we're superior in open play. Let's work hard the basics this week on the training pitch!

Was there not previously a rule that you had to be in the country and registered with your team in order to be named in the squad? Gone by the wayside obviously.

Marmion and Robb both failed late fitness tests last week I think so they may be available.

Pundit Arena claiming Dillane has signed for Munster. I know it's a rag but usually they just say rumour, saying signed must mean they are very confident about their info.

That's a shame. If true, hope IRFU will really back us with inciting Foley/Ryan to do the 150km the other way. Or allow us a quality NIQ there. Qualter/Stevenson aren't up to it, U20s not ready yet. We can't make it with just Browne/Roux and maybe Cannon, if staying and good enough

Weren't they the ones who had Henshaw to Munster at exactly this time of the year last year?

Just checked that, you are correct. Hopefully this is equally untrue. Though I can't claim to be unbiased I do think he's at the right team for another couple of years of his development.

Munster can't outbid us for Bundee. Besides why would he go to Munster?

Great news if Dillane is staying.

maybe connacht offered him 350k too. Have got to assume Saili is going, which frees up some cash

Would find it hard to believe Aki will move to another province, he'll either stick with Connacht, go home or France.

I know it's a professional game but he doesn't seem to be the sort to move elsewhere in Ireland with his bleed green hashtags every week and hero status in Connacht. Maybe that's naive of me tho!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,047 ✭✭✭Bazzo

I'm going to pick and choose the best of all rumours and surmise that Bundee and Dillane are as good as signed on for another 2+ years.

What ever happened to Ben Marshall? Is he still injured? He seemed like a good prospect.

munster has been spending an incredible amount of money for a club that's broke and are not seeing footfall at the turnstiles. they can't afford repayments on their grounds yet manage to build a state of the art set of facilities and are spending on new players and management with abandon. it doesn't make sense to me anyway
