Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Masssive scrum by Connacht there - chance for points in the third minute. Great start.....Scarlets normally have a good scrum.

    Ach off the posts.

The scrum is a beauty to behold today. Scarlets will be sweating every time there's a knock on(from either side).

connacht dropping the ball too much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

As soon as Scarlets get a chance they look dangerous. Good defence by Connacht though.

    Connacht scum is unbelievable.

Great control from Masterson at the back of the scrum there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Great try for Connacht there. They have dominated possession and needed to get rewarded with points. All thanks to a wonderful kick to the corner.

Delighted for Jake, had a very tough year.

Way too many missed tackles Scarlets are making yards of a retreating Scrum......

    Seems OK.

Scarlets giving away a lot of penalites.

Unfortunately not :( looks like Parata is on the right wing and Poolman is over on the left.

Connacht are a bit laboured and predictable and not capitalising on their chances.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,616 ✭✭✭✭errlloyd

That ball was almost too quick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,300 ✭✭✭freyners

Blade was silly there, hugely isolated

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

    This on tv?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,047 ✭✭✭Bazzo

Scarlets sub on a new tighthead and get demolished on the other side of the scrum this time :D. Card has to be coming some time soon.

Need to get a few more points on the board before half time ideally.

    Sky.

What a great try for the forwards there. Heenan again.

    Great line out, great maul.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Ref getting fed up with the Scarlets front row too - could be someone in the bin soon.

Great to get that try before half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,047 ✭✭✭Bazzo

Another good break from Henshaw down the opposite wing. Too bad he didn't get the offload away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

3 out of 4 kicks missed so far.

The %ages from the tee in 2016 are nothing short of horrific.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Connacht are ahead mainly because they are completely dominating the scrum. Scarlets look dangerous when they get a rare chance with ball in hand.

Sky's analysis is very Scarlet's biased today. Hopefully Connacht can keep this up. The communication from Whitehouse to the players is very good too. He's keeping the game flowing reasonably well because of it.

I was just laughing at that. 2 former scarlets players brought to Galway to do the analysis, how does that make sense?

    Our scrum dominating alright
But don't know if 13 points is enough - Scarlets look good with the ball and they'll have wind

Muldowney is like a man possessed

connacht set piece is way better. Think that will tell

Have to say Whitehouse is using his assistants briliantly. Big ego on the man but at least he listens.

    Nothing unusual in that!

Did the Sky lads have a bet at half time to see who could say "pudding" the most times?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

That was way too easy for the Scarlets. 13-8 already, with an easy conversion to come. Ominous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

10 points conceded in first 5 minutes of 2nd half. Scarlets probably favourites now with the wind.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,290 ✭✭✭aimee1

thats awful from connacht. poor protection at breakdowns

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,047 ✭✭✭Bazzo

Shocking there. Almost the entire lead coughed up in the first 5 minutes of the second half...

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Cracking skills from Scarlets, in fairness. Connacht need to just settle their game down for 10 minutes, nicely helped by a brutal knock on there.

Still in control and in front.

And Scarlets finally get a man binned for continuous infringements in the scrum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Scarlets haven't sorted out the scrum. Yellow and penalty. Connacht HAVE to pot the points here. And do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    Scarlet indiscipline is awful.

That could easily be another card for scarlets. Dangerous tackle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Another yellow. Connacht have to capitalise here. What a chance!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,290 ✭✭✭aimee1

    scarlets discpline is disgraceful

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Idiotic yellows. Scarlets will never achieve anything with their discipline

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Ref is excellent. No one is going to push him around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,047 ✭✭✭Bazzo

Shouting abuse at the ref? They're very very lucky he didn't see who was at that craic, they'll hardly be on his good side now as is.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

He's like a young Nigel Owens.

    If Nigel loved the pies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Try! Buckley - excellent. Pulls Connacht nicely ahead again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,616 ✭✭✭✭errlloyd

Throw the ball to heenan, only thing stopping him getting a third.

I can see them getting another yellow too.

If Conn hadn't have gotten over for that driving maul try another yellow could have been given for bringing/trying to bring the maul down.
