    That happens to me sometimes. Best thing to do is don't fight it. Get up. Read. Do something other than lying in bed willing sleep to come.
    I have a few meditation apps on my phone that are useful. One is called Calm and most of it is free. Of course the old phone or laptop screen is a divil for keeping sleep away.

    I was told a while ago that you need to tire the mind and body to get a good nights sleep,
    so a good walk followed by reading a book. stay away from electronics.
    doesnt work all the time,
    but worked for me way back in the day when the stress was very high

    It's happened to me the last week now, there have been times where i've gone to sleep at 2/3 am, and then not get up until later the next day, rinse and repeat, time just seems to drag when i do eventually sign out for the night.. Sometimes the brain just decides ''nah man, you don't need sleep, i'll keep ya awake with the **** that's bothering you''... My need to change some things..

    Bit cranky here too though trying not let it get to me. Been awake since around 3ish, was doing some writing but couldn't go back to sleep afterwards..
