Sounds good. I've just dropped my brother down town to get his bus to college.

Mam and Dad are away for the day. My dad has an appointment to have something done under sedation so Mam drove him over.

Don't really know what to do with myself for the day.

Forgot today was Ash Wednesday and had a ham and cheese toastie for breakfast. Oh well.

Is there anyone here able to explain Catholic stuff better than I am?

Preface: I am not Catholic, nor do I have any particular time for religion in general.

It's a ceremony at the start of Lent where ashes are put in the shape of a cross on an individual's forehead. iirc the ashes are made from the burning of the leftover branches from Palm Sunday (another ceremony just before Easter) the previous year. I forget what the ash symbolises, something to do with Jesus or something I guess.

Yes, first day of Lent.

One of my friends went Vegan for lent once (well, Lent was more coincidental, it was a bet with someone to see who could stay vegan longer). Hasn't had meat in 3 or 4 years I think.

wow, i presume she won?
i am vegetarian since i was 16yo, went vegan for some periods few times but would love to be able to go fully vegan..
theres a thought anyways..
