The internet isn't gonna be happy about this

Reigns is going to win it back at WM, that is obvious.

Ireland qualifying for the Euros. Ireland defeating Australia in the International Rules. Rory McIlroy winning the golf earlier. And now the Celtic Conqueror cashing in.

Great week to be an Irish sports fan

Thought they were going to disapoint me as usual there by either not doing the cash-in or have him cashing in and losing.

    Actually delighted with Sheamus winning.

Really should've had Reigns in a more intense match if that's what they were planning. Unless he wasn't able to do that

All the bigger pay off for Reigns when he wins it for real.

Loved that finish. Gives Reigns credibility and support and sets him up for a big Mania win.

hardly suprising how that ended to be fair.

The crowd was a bit dead for both title turns but happy sheamus cashed in.

The reigns win was just so anticlimactic it was so obivous something was happening.

    Terrible crowd there

Would have been better for Sheamus to nip in a pin Ambrose when both men went through a table or something during their match.

Reigns is technically a one time champ now. If they were going to make it a proper mania moment it would have been better (well thats debatable) to have him win his first world title at mania.

Agree with previous poster aswell, the match should have been more taxing, Reigns was grand after it so Sheamus didn't completely take advantage of a broken man.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Seamus drop the title fairly sharpish. Seemed to be getting serious stink eye from HHH.

But then again Rollins took a lot of criticism for being too cowardly a champion, won't hurt Sheamus to have had a harder win, they need to build him up cos he's starting off a lot lower in most people's opinions than Rollins was

It could be that they are just dropping Sheamus into whatever program they had already worked out for Rollins since he has now aligned himself with The Authority.

Totally predictable though. Sad to say but it really was no surprise, I felt pretty sure they would do this as soon as they announced the tournament.

    F*cking SHEAMUS

The answer to the question nobody asked.

Reigns will take it from him at the Rumble, Cena will win the Rumble and it'll be Reigns v Cena at Mania resulting in a monster heel turn from one of them

    You heard it here first

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Boy am I glad I skipped this. Sounded like a disaster of a show. Think I'll just stick to NXT as far as this company is concerned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,870 ✭✭✭Pentecost

How many world titles is that for Sheamus?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,469 ✭✭✭LeeJM

I cancelled my network sub about 3 weeks ago and gotta say I feel like I aint missing much at all except NXT. Ill renew in time for Rumble and keep till Mania after that though depends on the direction of the company.

Everything about the company is stale. The talent is there in the company to make it great but the creative is beyond awful now. Rollins, Reigns, Ambrose, Cena, Lesnar, Orton, Owens, Cesaro, Rusev, New Day, Usos, Del Rio, Swagger, Ryback, Ziggler, Breeze, Wyatt Family, Sheamus, Barrett, Neville, Cody, Kalisto, Sin Cara, Prime Time Players, Primo & Epico, Adam Rose, Brad Maddox, Charlotte, Becky, Sasha, Nikki, Natalya, Alicia Fox, Naomi, Paige, that roster alone is a match to NJPW & Lucha Underground for variety and match styles. And thats leaving out part timers like HHH, The Rock, Undertaker, Big Show & Kane ( name value, kinda ), Daniel Bryan and all of the talent in NXT. All that talent and yet Raw and Smackdown are totally skippable and even though the PPV matches most deliver you could miss 3 months worth and still know within 10 mins whats hapening.

As for Survivor Series, didnt see it most likely I never will as it seems I missed nothing. Im happy for Sheamus on a personal level but beyond that they went the safest of safe routes and its boring and repetitive.

Even though its sheamus, i couldn't help but feel rather meh when he cashed in, and that his time as champ will be short lived

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Sheamus is stale as fúck. Has been since his original face turn. And even before that I never saw the draw.

He's not even good in the ring really.

Put it this way, Reigns is better in pretty much every department.

Fell asleep before BoD vs. the Wyatts, woke up again a bit after the show finished.

Only real complaint I have about the Sheamus cash in was it was pretty obvious. Would have been nice to have Sheamus beat the three lads earlier on in the night to set him up (making the guy cash in look weak early in the night to set up the "shock" cash in is a bit wearying when they do it so often).

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,443 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

It's a pity it didn't end when Reigns downed HHH.

They could then have HHH join up with Sheamus and other heels to chase Reigns.

It would be a nice change from the babyface chasing the Authority and usual undeserving heel champ.

They could build to a cash in which would also be a change.

i'm still waiting for a triple h vs reigns feud anyway. is that too much to ask?

Sometimes, when I see Ambrose, all I can think about is my hairline

I always thought the The Lunatic Fringe tag was a rib on that.

Agreed, a face champion is something we have not had for a while, while an authority heel champ has been the same thing for the last 2 years!

I think Sheamus as an Authority champ has a lot of promise, but they need to make him more sadistic and paranoid about losing his title. The pieces are there, it just depends on whether WWE are willing to put them together. It sets the stage for Sheamus/Lesnar as well, which should be hogs heaven for those who like to see a stiff semi-shoot match.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,417 ✭✭✭WinnyThePoo

I haven't watched the show yet, but doesn't it make sense Sheamus cashed in then. Considering Reigns went through two matches in one night. I'm fine with him being champion.

I had the ending spoiled on me, but it's not that it was shocking. There's two aspects that annoy me though.

First, I ****ing hate the way WWE constantly spoil people's first time winning the top title. Winning the title and then losing it straight away makes the faces look like idiots to me. If I won the title, first thing I'd do is get the hell out of the ring, given the high likelyhood of a screwjob. Doubly so when HHH makes his way towards me. It ruins the capturing of the title.

Secondly, I thought during the 5 vs 5 when it was Sheamus vs 3 faces (which in itself is thick booking) that they were going to have Sheamus bulldoze three guys to make him look strong ahead of a cash in. Nope. So an hour before he won the title, Sheamus was looking like an idiot on multiple fronts, between the loss and being the butt of New Day's jokes.

So yeah, not a fan of the ending at all.

At least there was some ok matches, but I really disliked the overall booking of the main story, and I really hate how they refuse to book the MITB holder as strong in any way in the build up to a cash in.

Personally I always thought Sheamus should have lost whenever he cashed in; I know they need a top heel at the moment but I just don't think he's over enough to be in that position.

Ambrose turning heel would have been way more interesting to me. You could have played up the 'lunatic' element as well by having him act way more deranged than Rollins ever did. I'm thinking along the lines of a Joker type character (without the face paint obviously - don't wanna step on Sting's toes :pac:).

Will be interesting to see what the ratings are and if it gives them a decent bump.

Sheamus was booked really badly earlier in the night to make the successful cash in a "shock". It's that kinda logic that has the current product the way it is. I like Sheamus, I said months ago that I'd like him to be HHH's new face and cash in when the authority get sick of Rollins causing problems for them to solve. But not only have they made him look weak in recent months (seriously stop doing this with MITB holders) they made him look like a total dork the night he wins the title.

i expected Sheamus to cash in last night (still doesn't make me any less pissed off) i was expecting him too lose on his try though, because i totally agree, he's not over, the only thing that's going for him right now is that he's getting the crowd to say he looks stupid
