Hi, I am hoping to try replace the laptop screen in a Toshiba satellite-c855-1w3.

I could bring it to a repair place but I'd like to try it myself for as cheap as I can manage it. Would anyone here have any recommendations on where i should start? If anyone has done it is it a hard job?

Its not too hard just a few things to look out for are on the hinges the wires for webcam and wifi run through these. Some laptops just have 2 to 4 screws on the bezel and plastic clips to gain access to the lcd. Also be careful of ribbons or other little connections for the inverter

Best thing is to youtube some videos on stripping out lcd look it up for your model or toshiba most are very similar just take time.

You can pick up the screen off ebay (link) for around 50 with varying rates for delivery.

I dismantled the laptop at the weekend and removed the broken screen. The model number on the back was a N156B6-L0B laptop screen.

The cheapest I can find a replacement screen in Ireland is €50 on www.laptopmarket.ie

Is that a good price? Is it possible to get it cheaper elsewhere?
