Whats the best headlight bulbs for daytime and night time riding?
Are these Orsam Nightbreakers the bluish whiteish bulbs that I see on some bikes and cars?

    Are they any good?

And wheres the cheapest place to buy them.
    Tks.:)

Osram and Philips would be good brands for cars, I presume same for bikes?

    http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/76760/car-bulbs-2014-halogen-headlight-bulb-reviews

This might help you decide. I got the halfords ones for a car, and they seem good.

I have had Osram, Ring, Phillips and Halfords Extreme Ultra Brilliance with extra zing and zang yadda yadda yadda...the best by far I have used is the BOSCH bulbs. Pricey but better then the rest.

Any particular type of Bosch light?

Are the ones you use much more whiteish/blueish than oem?

Picked up 2 sets of Osram Cool Blue Intense H7 bulbs this morning.25 euro a set and got a few led side light bulbs thrown in for free too.:)

Bike is due back in the bike shop on Thursday for the recall work to be done.
Yamaha issued a recall for all big bang R1s over problems with the headlight loom and possible arcing and shorting issues.

Was that from power bulbs? They are 18 there with the discount.
I ordered earlier. If you mail them they will also swap put the free side lights to ones that will match your cool blue intense light. As the standard free ones are ****ty normal light.

They swapped my side lights to Philips blue vision ultra w5w so the light is the same

Any reason you went with coolblue over nightbreaker ?

Motor factors down the road from me did me a deal on the last 2 sets he had in stock.
So I just bought them there and then as I was also getting some service parts for my car.Got some money off on the car parts too.

These were thrown in free instead of the standard ones for me this morning when i ordered my Cool Blue Intense.

Again, they shouldnt be called blue at all. They are a pure white light.

    Thanks for that.:)

I was reading a few reviews and all say the same thing.
White light and not a blueish light at all.

Ah well, has to be better than the oem bulbs.

I used standard night breakers for a long time. But on my vstrom i has some LED fog lights and LED handguard lights. They are both a nice bright white where the Night Breakers were better than a standard bulb but still a yellow tiny light.

The cool blue intense were the perfect match on the bike to keep all lights a consistent brilliant white

Twin pack of Cool Blue Intense is comming up as 23 euro 84 cents with discount code applied on Powerbulbs website.

    Was it these ?

    http://www.powerbulbs.com/eu/product/cool-blue-intense-h4-two-bulbs

and you mailed them to swap out the standard colour ones to match

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,224 ✭✭✭goodlad

Yeah thats the ones. The standard free gift is OSRAM W5W Sidelight Bulbs.
As soon as you get your order confirmation email just reply to it and ask if they will swap out the free side lights for ones that will match the light of the main bulbs you are ordering.

For the Cool Blue Intense the light color match is Philips Blue Vision Ultra.
They have never ever had an issue swapping out the free side lights for me to match the main lights.

Wouldnt matter at all if you were buying standard night breakers though.

Well trying to get away from the yellow ewe, based on what youve had from the night breakers to the blue vision.

Which is further away, and of the 2 which offers more light or is it comparible.

The cool blue is absolutely pure white. The field of light was more or less the same as the night breaker but i found things much clearer to see with the white light instead of the yellow tint of a night breaker.

I,ll get that sorted soon enough.;)
I was given 6 small 5w LED side lights bulbs with the Cool Blue bulbs.
Supposedly they are a bright white too.

Didnt get around to fitting them as I wasnt too sure on how to remove the carbon air ducts to get at the side light bulb holders.
