Ger Aylward was flat out in TJs gym on Sunday anyway. Didn't look like a lad who wasn't involved.

Ger is definitely still involved, talking to a Club man of his only yesterday and says he's training away with county panel, didn't say what was holding him up or anything, He says Ger tells them feck all, I think that's the way they operate , somebody had it here last week that Lester Ryan was gone of panel only for him to play last Saturday.

FreeSat channel 252. You need a satellite dish and a suitable receiver. It can also be tuned in on other channels on a Sky box.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,747 ✭✭✭brookville

Interesting to see ucd beating ucc today granted ucc were down a few regulars.5 kk lads starting for ucd and 2 for ucc.nice mixture of kk lads among the various college teams which is good to see.

I would assume so too. I would expect the team to be very similar to the team that played the Walsh Cup final as we don't have much other choice at the minute with injuries and Fitzgibbon tied players. I would expect at least 12 if not the full 15 to start.

I don't know why the Independent rehashed that old news and made it sound worse than it was (well I do it's a very poor paper, they don't even print the red banner along the top). Jj Farrell, M Walsh, M Bergin, M Fennelly and K Joyce all retired or dropped off the panel of their own accord. Ger Aylward is absolutely flying apparently, this week is just a bit too early for him, would expect him back after that. Lester was considering retiring and foolishly said to a few people, so it got out. He decided to go back and go again.

I always feel Lester has gotten a bit of a raw deal as regards playing time. Hopefully he'll be rewarded for staying on with some starts, he's been a good servant for Kilkenny hurling over the years and should be an important player this year.

Most of our college lads are after playing 2 matches this week It would be unfair to expect them to tog out saturday night.I agree a lot of last week's team done well and should hold on but I think we could see lester near starting. It's good that richie reid is available this will be a good test for him.

Yeah, going by media reports he has 2 games in 5 hours. Big day for his club and he can make the 2nd game in the evening. Maybe easier as a keeper though but fair play.

Good to see Kilkenny representation last night in the Fitzgibbon, Liam Blanchfield scored 2 goals last night for DIT against WIT who had Shane Murphy and Conor Hennessy hurl very well. DCU had Delaney, Mullen and Donnelly hurl very well when beating the Gaurds

Fierce short sighted by Cork managment if he does play the two games. Collins needs game time, what if Nash is injured before or during the championship and they have a keeper coming in with no game time. Perfect opportunity to bed in a new keeper.

If Kanturk win which is likely they'll play the club final on Feb 4th

Cork play Wexford that day too so Collins will get his game then. I'd say that was a factor in Nash playing this weekend

Nash obviously mad to play Corks first official game in there new stadium. I would do the same as him

Didn’t see a report from the DCU game did Donnelly score much? As you say good to see Blanchfield and Shane Murphy amongst the scorers in that game, Pat Lyng also scored 9 points in that game 6 frees and 3 from play. Does anyone know if John Walsh is still in DIT or has he finished up there?
