Outside Light - Energy Efficient Bulbs Wont Work In It

We have an outside light by the door that can either be turned on manually or will be triggered by movement after dark to come on.

However energy efficient light bulbs will not work in it. I.E fluroescents or LEDs will not work correctly, they will merely flash on and off constantly.

Has anyone encountered this issue before ? Also Incandescent light bulbs seems to only last a few months in it.

The switching circuit probably needs a minimum wattage lamp to operate correctly. Not unusual.

You should get a light fitting designed for low energy lamps.
