Hi,

Just wondering if either of these are still available. I see someone else has posted a query regarding the same but as there are 2 advertised maybe there is one available.

I am looking to replace a Denon 1911 which I bought from your good selves in 2011 along with Boston XS5.1 speakers and a Phillips BDP7500B2. 2 of the 4 HDMI In ports on the Denon are no longer outputting sound so its time for a forced upgrade. I was hoping to get a little longer out of the sound system with a preference to change TV first but thats not to be.

Anyway, you can let me know if they are available.

Hi , I was thinking about upgrading my Denon AVR 1910 that I currently have paired with a set of Q Acoustics 1010i 5.1, that I bought a while back from yourself . I would be moving these to mancave out in garden.

What do you think of a pairing of Sony DN860 with Tannoy TFX 5.1, are they worth the upgrade, some people are saying I would be as well keeping the Q Acoustics where they are with a new amp .
( wife is trying to convince me to get rid of "noisy" AVR setup and go with small minimalist Sonos Playbar , but I am not convinced of merits )

Any advice welcome , what would you recommend and do you rate Sonos for Home Cinema as opposed to music.

Depending on your recommendations of course , what is your best possible price for Sony DN860/Tannoy TFX package or Sonos Playbar delivered to Dublin

thanks for the post..

Obviously the 1st piece of advice if your better half wants you to swap your 1010's for small satellites is head straight for the divorce courts ( mmm.. on 2nd thoughts that may cost you more than a speaker upgrade).

Don't swap your 1010's for SFX - unless of course you are doing it for aesthetic reasons - you would be far better off using your 1010's as fronts or rears and gradually upgrading to a full Q Acoustics system over time - both the 2010 and the super 2020's are on special at the moment..

If you spent the £200 that the TFX costs you could get a great start on the system initially grab the 2010's at just £99.95 and swap the 1010's out to your rears:

After that I'd grab a sub and then the centre - to be honest rather than change the amp 1st I'd probably change the speakers in the 1st instance as the 1910 is actually still a decent sounding piece of kit!

In terms of pricing if you still wanted to go for the STRDN860 / TFX - I can do that combo at £525 / €749.


Unless you come back to be and say that your OH has served the divorce papers on you - I don't think you need the Sonos Playbar pack price, do you ?  ( besides the Heos HC system sounds WAY better anyway!)
