    Hello

I have an usual query. I am currently buying a property from a parent, in a mortgage type situation - I will be living in the property, it will remain in their name, but I will be paying them for it.
In order to meet the repayments, I would need to rent a room in the house.

Would this come under owner occupier, or would my parent be the landlord?

If you are buying the property why are they remaining the owner?

Surely if you are paying the property ownership should trasnfer other wise you are demeed to be renting it

Ownership is irrelevant in this case. You don't get a tenant you get a licensee and qualify for rent a room relief
