Quality of residential properties Dublin

I'm looking to buy a property in Dublin at the moment and I was told recently to watch out for anything that was constructed roughly between 2003 and 2007..

I have little to no knowledge of this area and so am wondering if anybody can tell me if this should be a legitimate concern for me? I used to live in a property that was built in 2004 and it was probably the most pleasant place I've lived so I'm just looking for some general information to help me discern what to look out for and how to avoid a badly built place.

I'm currently interested in an apartment which was built in 2007, should I be careful with it, and if so, what signs should I look for as warnings of a deficit of quality?

    Any help appreciated!

It's a generalisation and most apartments built during that time are ok. Basically that was the height of the construction boom and some very unscrupulous and dodgy developers were building apartments which were not up to regulation. Everyone was making money so some blind eyes were turned.

The most famous of these was Priory Hall, Google it. A lot of ordinary people got completely screwed over on that. One poor soul even committed suicide. The whole thing was a tragedy and a crime.
There were a few other cases as well. As far as I know all apartments have since been checked for these issues now so there should be no surprises, however I'd be careful.

Longboat Quay is another dodgy one and I'm not sure if the issues have been resolved.

Wasn't there issues with some of the apartments in Dundrum as well or have they all been sorted?

I think pyrite would be the biggest concern, however if it was built between 04 and 07 signs of it will be showing already.

From talking to a few people, longboat is apparently one of the safest
Tip of the iceberg stuff, so they say

Hearsay from people who work in the fire industry. Alarms installed that don't and never meet standards.

I wouldn't be touching an apartment without everything being fully inspected. We know about longboat. We know that problem exists. We also know that it was built by one of the best regarded developers at the time.

If the "well regarded" were building ****, what were the **** building

A lot of issues with some apartments have never been made public.
