Been using it a few years, its excellent and its value far exceeds its cost (it is free)

Excellent for training analysis and trainer control (Computrainers and now ANT+ FE-C) One of my reservations with the new fangled trainers is the lack of quality software support.

Export from your Garmin Connect as .tcx and import into Golden Cheetah

I have been exploring better ways to use my Tacx flow with the likes of sufferfest and for power training with the estimation. I believe with TR you can use the Ant+ stick and speed/cadence meter with the Flow to get power do you know if this would work with GC?

I've just started playing around with the Workouts in Golden Cheetah and it looks very promising. Its early days for me but has anyone managed to get ANT+ FE-C control working with a Wahoo Kickr and version 3.3 of Golden Cheetah? I believe it requires an update of the Kickr firmware https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?320898-Wahoo-Kickr/page5

I've played around with TrainerRoad and it works well when it comes to controlling resistance on the trainer but I find their workout creator very frustrating to use. All the workouts I need are available in the GC ErgDB so i'm considering dropping TR altogether.

I'm running GC on a PC with Windows 10 btw.

Trainerroad uses custom BTLE to control the kickr.

The Kickr firmware that supports ANT+ FE-C is beta and that is probably the problem. Once stable I think it will work.

I create ERGS (computrainer style) in one of the many tools and they get executed perfectly by GC. My Kickr less so.

I've used GC for years to control a computrainer and its excellent for this.

Installed the beta Kickr firmware with ANT+ FE-C and did a quick smoke test in GC. It works :)

Long time TR user and lately Zwift. Must give GC a go. For awhile while reading other articles I taught GC was Garmin Connect!

What is the state of Bluetooth4 in golden cheetah?

I have a polar v800, and HR/Cadance sensors are BLE.

I have a wahoo blue SC, which is BLE & ant+

My laptop doesn't have a BLE adapter builtin, so would have to get a usb adapter if I wanted to use trainer road.

I am going to need to get an ant+ adapter and hrm sensor if BLE isn't supported in golden cheetah.

can't decide which way to go...

I know polar and iPhone users like to describe BTLE as a standard but it's not really. Private Ant is the best comparison. Get that Ant+ stick.

iPhone user?? how very dare you...

just saw that Tacx have a BTLE&ANT+ hrm, so that would give me more options.

Is not sport science though. It's turbo control and reporting.

Sometimes a little technology didn't hurt, say a Garmin with maps?

It's symptomatic of the same problem though.

I'm told technology, or whatever it is, has come on leaps and bounds in the last three years. I don't understand a single post in this thread, but out of the two of us, who has gotten faster since 2012? At the end of the day that's all that matters.
