Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Allianz insurance and dogs 7yrs+

I just renewed my dog's insurance policy this month. She was born 01/03/09 so she's only six. But on the new policy document it says I will have to pay the excess plus the first 35% of any claim as she's turning seven. Does anyone know if that kicks from the start of the policy year in which she turns seven, or does it kick in on her 7th birthday, i.e. 01/03/16?

Hope you get the gist! She's recovering from an expensive surgery to repair a carpal ligament so I'm hoping that 35% doesn't kick in until she is seven in March!

I'll ring Allianz tomorrow but I'm anxious to know!

It must be when they turn 7 - Bailey was 6 in July and we haven't had to pay the 35%? Thanks though because your post reminded me that I have a login to their website now to manage the policies so I can check up on a claim for a couple of weeks ago! ;)

Just rang them there. They confirmed that though the renewal document says the 35% rule applies this policy year, it doesn't actually kick in until she turns seven, next March. Phew!
