Chives? Growing indoors now, chances?

I cannot find fresh Chives in any supermarkets at all at this time of year. What are the chances of getting some in time for Christmas/New Year but sowing indoors NOW?

Not great. You might get them to germinate but there would not be enough green to be useful.

Just occurs to me that if you could find a pot of dormant chives in a garden centre you might well be able to force them by bringing them indoors, in which case you could get reasonable growth.
