    Hi all,
Myself and my lil fam (my partner and toddler) will be heading to Killarney for a little post Christmas break on the 28th Dec. We love Kerry so wanted to break it up a bit so we were thinking of spending the first 3 nights in Killarney then 2/3 nights in kinsale or dingle. One of those nights will obviously be New Year's Eve so I'm wondering if anyone knows the best family friendly place in Kerry for New Years? We obviously can't go out to pubs etc as we have our toddler but thought if any hotels were doing something we could leave her asleep in the room and bring the monitor down to the bar perhaps?...
I heard dingle celebrate New Years with fireworks in the town etc but can only find info on that from 2011 so not sure if that still happens??
    Any info or suggestions welcome!!

Tralee will be doing fireworks early (7.30pm) for families on NYE.

Dingle do fireworks also. Not sure about Killarney.

Dingle has fireworks at 10pm sharp and they last for about 15 minutes. The town is usually thronged for them. They're good, but very loud, and a small child might find them frightening. Most people with children head home after the display.

Meanwhile at 11.30 the Fife and drum band march around the town arriving at the Droichead Beag in time for midnight. There's a 2nd parade around after that again. Under no circumstances would I bring a small child next, nigh nor near the parade or the Droichead Beag. There are thousands of people (many just out of the pubs) crammed into a few narrow streets. Great craic for a certain age group, but not for small children.
I think for now you might be better off in Kinsale or somewhere quieter for the night, but pencil us in for a few years time -- and book well ahead!

Dingle is definitely great craic for new years eve, but it is really busy! Its years since I spent NYE in Dingle, but we had a brilliant night!
