Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sturridge and hendo needed 2nd half

Isn't really working tbh. We've shown no ability to get the forward four connecting in close around the Newcastle box. Needs a change of some description...

No they don't. They haven't been great but you don't make two subs at halftime when you're not getting destroyed.

Eh says who? They are playing **** so get them off, you dont only take players off when your getting destroyed ffs:D

Ibe's decision making is fúcking horrendous.

    Lucas is boss.

    Lucas booking...game on.

Newcastle are out battling us as the moment. We're getting nothing from this game unless we cop the fcuk on and get stuck in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    Benteke doesn't look arsed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,775 ✭✭✭✭kfallon

Well that was much ado about nothing!

Worst 45 minutes under Klopp I'd say. Very flat today. Ibe has looked lively at times and that's about it. Milner has barely been able to control the ball.

I'd diagnose him and Milner as the real problems in that half. Ibe has seen a lot of ball and been very ineffective with it; Milner is struggling to get involved and impact the game.

Very poor first half....missing the second half so I suppose it'll turn into a brilliant game.

Anytime we've opted for Benteke in the past few weeks we've been poor. Badly in need of some pace up top.

Sturridge and Origi for Benteke and Firmino/Ibe is required.

Lallana on for Ibe in the second half.

Milner offer us nothing out wide. Can't beat his man and has no pace. Can't even cut inside and have a shot. Failing to see his worth to the team at moment

We seem to think we have tons of time and space on the ball and time and again we lost the ball because we're dithering with it too much.
Ibe the only one to be playing well in that half, 2nd half must be better to get anything out of it, Newcastle look up for it today.

Hang on for the next 45 and it could be a brilliant result.

Newcastle's confidence must have been very low coming into the game but we've been so lethargic that they've grown in confidence as the half went on.

I think Milner should be the first player to be taken off. I'm struggling to think of anything meaningful he has contributed in attack or defence today.

The game is also illustrating how important Coutinho, and particularly Sturridge, are.

We haven't got the personnel to unlock a packed defence.

    No

He was actually. So that'd explain that particular performance.

Less sure about Milner though, because he certainly didn't but doesn't look like he has his normal legs on.
Lallana on for Ibe in the second half.

He pretty much looks like our only threat, even if he's been a bit wasteful.

I'd hook any of the other front 6 before I'd take Ibe off.

Benteke and Milner are pony today.

Benteke is supposed to offer a presence but he has won one header I think. No movement or closing down from him. I'd whip him at h/t and I'd bring Lallana on and push Bobby up top. Give it twenty then take Milner off for Sturridge if we haven't got it together.

Funnily enough he's the one in the squad that seems to have regressed a bit since Klopp has taken over.
Looks less assured on the ball of late and hasn't been great in the air.
He looks physically shaky at the moment. Seems to be spending a lot time on the floor. Wonder does he have some sort of injury disrupting his game or something.

Benteke surely has 15 minutes only to do something before being hooked.

No need to take off any Liverpool player unless they need to be rested. It is inevitable that Liverpool will win this game. Newcastle are a remarkably poor side by PL standards. They will concede goals and they are completely toothless in attack. Liverpool are no great shakes for a team that could easily win the title this season either.

That's all well and good but the lad has no final ball.

At the moment he is best coming on as a sub to inject energy into the team.

I will say Joe Allen has been very good again.

Solid with some very neat touches.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Something to be positive about is that Klopp has shown he can identify the issues and address them pretty well so far during games.

Ibe needs to fúcking realise he doesn't have to dribble EVERY time.

    Infuriating.

Even Mbemba looked shocked that he made it that far into Liverpool's half. :pac:

Are ye watching the game or just sitting looking at a pc,ibe has being our best player in that 1st half, has been wasteful alrite but only Lpool player with a bit about him. 1-0 Ncastle is a strong possibility, and 30mins from studge might nick it for us

Agree Allen is playing well but he doesn't drive forward like Can.
