Yesterday it was announced Mid Air Squadron went into receivership and all assets will be sold including their 2 Hawker Hunter and PR9 Canberra Aircraft.

Mid Air Squadron displayed in the 2014 season in Newcastle and Portrush, and were due to display in Ireland in 2015 before they pulled all displays. They had hoped to get back in the air for 2016.

It also seems The Classic Air Force have put their entire fleet up for sale with the exception of the Dakota and Nimrod aircraft, some of their aircraft has already been sold.

    Aircraft For Sale

With our founder, Mike Collett, considering his retirement, we are now offering several aircraft from our collection for sale. There's no urgency about this - we'd far rather wait for the right buyer than rush into anything. The important consideration is that these precious aircraft must be flown regularly and accessible as important historic items to the British public.

If you have a genuine interest in owning and flying the aircraft detailed below then please click here to e-mail Sue Hawkins and Ben Cox.

Hopefully these aircraft will stay in the UK. It would be a shame to lose the Canberra after so much work was put into getting her flying again. Especially after losing the Vulcan this year from the skies. It would be great to keep a cold war bomber flying in the UK and Ireland.

    That is sad.

Definitely a shame, it was a rare treat to see the Canberra and Vulcan together at Newcastle in 2014. Hopefully they'll manage to keep them in the country.
