Employment contract confusion

I'm a salesman in a company that has a big customer base, I was thinking about setting up a company with another colleague in the same company but we are confused about our contracts.

It does not state in our contract that we cannot sell to customers that are already buying from the company. It does state that we cannot extract any information from the company. Does that mean we could not sell to those customers. Could we set up as a new company and sell to those customers legally?

Does it mention conflict of interest at all? They could get you there even if it doesn't specifically mention what you are suggesting.

You are best speaking to a solicitor and having them look over your contract -if you filled out an NDA then it is likely in that also.

Legal advice is not something to get over boards and is not allowed in the charter as you are better seeking it from a professional.
