11 early games and only 2 late afternoon games. The NFL scheduling is so frustrating at times.

Really getting to crunch time now.

    - It will be interesting to see if the Redskins can keep up with the rest of the NFC East by securing a loss to the Bears.
    - Tampa Bay are rolling. If they beat the Saints, and the Vikings lose against the Cardinals, the Wild Card race in the NFC gets interesting.
    - I don't like the Colts, and I think the Jags are the bet of the week to turn them over and open up the AFC South even further. People mock the NFC East, but this division is just as bad.

Brilliant start for Adrian Peterson @ Arizona.

Just catching the game now. That TD to Brown - either the safety took an extremely bad angle or he is one of the quickest WR in the NFL - it just looked wrong.
Nice drive here from the Vikings, already making a better game of it than last week.

ah, I cursed them - pretty weak fumble there from the Vikings. Promising drive dies inside the 20

Really good game so far. Both teams had it going a bit on offense, before the defences stiffened in the redzone. A Vikings win here will slightly open the door to make a run at the second seed in the NFC.

Vikings tie it up with 5 to go. Very good game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

Well that was a really dumb last play to win it for Arizona. Bridgewater fumbles with 5 seconds to go, when they were in field goal range to tie it up.

Even if they had a reception, there still wasn't time to set the field goal up. Plus they needed the first down to be able to spike it.

The coach has to take the blame for this. It was such a bizarre call.

It looked like they were trying to take a shot into the endzone. A decent QB makes sure to hit something near the side line or get rid of it. Even a sack isn't a complete killer with the leg Walsh has got, but a strip sack, fumble recovery. Very poor. Clevland Browns-esque.

The Vikings should be kicking themselves for the chances they spurned in the game. A stupid fumble when they were inside the 20 early in the game, a stupid trick play which resulted in a turnover when they were marching down the field early in the 3rd, A missed pick 6 in the 3rd quarter, which Arizona turned into a TD and then the mess at the end.

They would've been one game behind Arizona and own the tiebreaker for the second seed over them had they won. Now they have no hope of a bye. Still, they gave a good Cardinals team a very decent game in Arizona. If they meet again in the playoffs it would be up for grabs again.

I just posted in the Vikings thread that I am a bit numb after watching that.

I think we played very well on both sides of the ball. A varied offence, some big plays on defence and we coped well while missing our big players defensively.

But we were killed by the turnovers. To go to Arizona and be better than one of the best teams in the league, but to lose it by stupidity.......

Assuming we don't lose out, I think we are booked now for #6 seed unless we beat the Packers. Either way, I think it is likely that we will be playing the Pack in the playoffs.

Unless we get caught by the Bucs. In which case I will just cry.

Surprised to see the Vikings so close.
It suggests that the Cardinals aren't all that.

I'm thinking Panthers and Seahawks are the only real contenders for the SB now.

No love for Bengals, Pats or Broncos?

You are going to decide how good a team are based on one game?

How come you are just dismissing their win over the Seahawks in Seattle?

I'd have discounted the Cardinals since they only scored 10 points against Vick and 3 against Jones in Pittsburgh facing at best an average defence (and conceding 25 against backup QBs)

You do realise that Vick and Jones are not on the field when the Cardinals offense is on it? :D

The Cards have beaten Seattle and Cincy recently which makes me think they are the team to beat in the NFC.

Indeed. Vick was usually on the sideline with the Steelers offense too.

The Cardinals offense were barely off the field with Vick's 6 total yards of passing. Cardinals gained 280 yards first half and Steelers only 59. They dominated the first half, but only had a seven point lead and defense fell apart in the second half.

Ok, so between the two of you they are out of it based on two games but they've also beaten Cincy and Seattle in recent games. How on earth can you rule them out with such a good win record and the fact that they have beaten good teams?
