    Backlog of games...

The Witcher 3 (only picked up last week so... eek.)
Mad Max (enjoying this I must say! Brianless fun)
Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (€15 on PSN... too good an offer to miss)
Fallout 4 (I presume I'll be picking it up that is)
    Uncharted Collection
    The Last of Us
    Shadow of Mordor

And I feel like I'm gonna pick up GTA V soon, plus the nostalgia mad gamer in me wants the Final Fantasy X/X2 remaster. I loved those games so much.

Add that to FIFA 16 and Rocket League which are still going around quite a bit for me.

    Maybe I'll quit my job...

Quitting your job won't be enough. I've been signing on the last couple of months and the backlog is only growing. :(

Have so many interesting games to start, but I keep going back to the reliables that I sink endless hours into.

Game Of Thrones (last 3 eps)
    Fallout 4
    Life is Strange
    The Evil Within

Finished Witcher 3 last week but gonna wait until all the DLC is released before jumping back in. Really enjoying GOT and when i'm done I'll jump into Fallout.

I forgot about all the freebies Sony give every month.

I've got both Walking Dead series to play through, and I know I got Journey and Brothers at some point (maybe not free though?). It never ends!!!

I look forward to the release of the new Uncharted, Final Fantasy and Last Guardian games next year too just to see the pile grow and grow and grooooow

EDIT: And someone just gave me Until Dawn.

I need to employ a team of gamers to clear this for me!!!

I realised I had a problem when my backlog included actual consoles. :o

As far as games go, I've about 40 on the 360, 12 on the PS4, 10 on the GameCube, 15 on the PS2, over 30 on the PS1 (including the ones on my Vita), few PSP and Vita games along with it, and that's not including any of the PS Plus games.

And that's why I won't even think about moving to PC gaming.

Currently about 80 on mine, a mix of unplayed and to get back to. I think I'll have a cull around January and move a few games to the "never" list.

  • Registered Users Posts: 850 ✭✭✭erkifino

Way too many. Hopefully EA Access/GWG will ensure I never buy a game again.

..it'd be easier list the games I've finished.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,878 ✭✭✭Robert ninja

I really try not to have a backlog. If I don't stick with a game so be it I just try to move on... even if I know they're good. Backlogs are a good way to make a chore of games. That said... they're almost unavoidable in this day and age so here's a few I admit I feel I have to get-

    back to.

    Arma 2
    Insurgency
    Skullgirls
    Bloodrayne
    The Cat Lady
    Soulbringer
    Chivalry
    Pathologic
    Fallout
    Legend of Grimrock II
    Dark Fall: The Journal
    Severance: Blade of Darkness
    Haunting Ground / Demento
    Viewtiful Joe
Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare

and some I have to get around to:

    Alpha Protocol
    Always Sometimes Monsters
    System Shock
    Doorkickers
    Valkyria Chronicles

I'm the same for the most part. My issue arises when I buy several games at once, or even one game when I'm in the middle of a playing second one. When playing through Far Cry 4 earlier this year, I found myself unwilling to turn on another game even, but also unwilling to pass up on good prices, etc so I ended up with a huge list!

I know damn well i'll never get around to some of them. But I haven't decided which ones yet.

It's too big for me to ever have a faint hope of clearing, I'm sort of coming to terms with that now. I've done OK with my current gen games, I've either beaten or played enough of most things I've bought for PS4 but handhelds and PC? Never going to clear.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,163 ✭✭✭brady12

    ehhhh.

Thats just steam, theres origin, other PC games, 3DS, xbox 360, and PS3 as well.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,106 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Yeah would take a while to list. Actually part of the reason for not getting a PS4 or XBone. Though now I'm thinking I'll get a PS4 and keep up to date with those games and not allow any to go unplayed.
Of course that was the plan with the Wii U as well. Didn't work out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,553 ✭✭✭murphyebass

I have a huge backlog, too many games to list for three reasons.

    1. Free games ala games for gold and ps+. God so many unplayed free games.

    2. Time sink games is probably my biggest problem. I really get sucked in by a game. On 360 it was halo 3 and even 4 and now it's destiny on ps4 although I've recently slowed down that addiction thankfully. I'll get pulled back in though with another dlc

    3. And point 2 means by the time I get to even look at other games they're going for peanuts so I buy more than I need and then don't get round to them.
For example I'm currently trying to play dark souls which I picked up for a fiver in a steam sale. I bought about ten other games between that sale and a ps+ sale.

Too many games not enough time yet when you're a kid you have too much time and not enough games.

Whenever I sit down to game I tend to just boot up some multiplayer shenanigans.
Out of the list below I'm keen to get through xcom for sure before xcom 2 but not sure where to start, some say play enemy within others say start with enemy unknown.

    Alien V Predator
    Arma3
Batman arkham Asylum [played about 2 hours of it]
    Batman Arkham City
    Chivalry medieval warfare
    Darksiders 2
    Dead Island
    Dead Space
    Endless Legend
    Defence Grid
    Frozen Synapse
    GTAV
    Lost Planet
    Magicka
    Metro 2033
    Oddworld Abes Oddysee
    Risen 2
    Sacred 2
    Saints Row 2
    Saints ROw the third
    Starbound
    Tomb Raider 2013
Xcom enemy unknown and enemy within
    Warhammer Vermindite
    Fallout4
    Assassins Creed Black Flag
    Assassins creed syndicate
    Shadow of mordor
    Divinity Original Sin
    Dragon Age Inquisition
    Pillars of Eternity
The Witcher 3 [got bored of it after 10 hours into it]

With retro gaming, be it console or emulator, plus indie games, mobile games, plus the usual modern titles, it's getting to be not so much a backlog as an intimidating stretch into infinity. I don't think that another video game crash could ever happen (or if it did, it would be like the movie industry crashing), but if it did, I think gamers would be pretty well insulated.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,496 ✭✭✭quarryman

Wasn't there a really good thread a while back (maybe not on this forum) where people posted their backlogs and asked others to pick the best out of them to play next?

    Maybe we need another?

  • Registered Users Posts: 880 ✭✭✭_Godot_

I have over 150 unbeaten games (most I haven't even started), I'm too busy playing Xenoblade Chronicles X. Also a lot of my games are time-sucking rpgs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,966 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

    Assassin's Creed 2.

    Assassin's Creed 3.

    Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

    Borderlands: The Handsome Collection.

    Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.

    Rise of the Tomb Raider.

    Valiant Hearts.

  • Registered Users Posts: 150 ✭✭TetraxShard

Way too many to fully list. I'm not even sure of the total.

This year, I plan to beat:
Assassin's Creed (any one of them, probably Black Flag)
Batman - A Telltale Games Series
    The Beginner's Guide
    Chroma Squad
    Cuphead
    Darkest Dungeon
Dark Souls (at least the first one)
Divinity Original Sin EE (I have a co-op partner for this)
    Doorkickers
    Dragon Age Inquisition
    Dying Light
    Fable Anniversary
    Grow Home
    Hand of Fate (finish)
    Hard West
    Just Cause 3
    Invisible Inc.
LEGO (any one of them, probably Marvel 1 or LOTR)
    Murdered: Soul Suspect
    Ori and the Blind Forest
    Overwatch
    Pillars of Eternity
    Remember Me
    Rise of the Tomb Raider
    Satellite Reign
    Shadow Warrior
    Shovel Knight
    Street Fighter V
    Total War: Warhammer
    Transistor
Transformers Devastation (still gotta finish the story)
    Undertale
Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide (need group)
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt (I keep forgetting I own this because my copy is GOG)
    Wolfenstein: The New Order
    XCOM 2

I'm probably crazy. I'll be trying to fit in Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm and Marvel Heroes 2016 (just bought the Mega Pack, should last awhile anyway) playing as well.
