Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah Campbell has improved game on game, really putting in a good case to keep his place when everyone is fit.

    Thank Cech...

One more goal would be nice to seal the deal.

Quick question to you gooners; how the fcuk did Olympiakos win at the Emirates? You're way better than them.

Giroud needs to learn to compose himself. Another needless booking.

Not the first from this lot, and I doubt it'll be the last.

Giroud was stupid there, he should have walked away.

    We need another desperately.

He done very little wrong in fairness. Certainly wasn't a yellow card offense.

Arsenal midfield has gone missing the last few mins and olympiakos look like getting back in the game.

Have got the crowd going again too

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,065 ✭✭✭MaxPower89

Poor from the ref there, bought the dive.

This next half hour could be a tough watch, hopefully we can catch them on the break.

Harsh penalty. He wasn't even looking at the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,114 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Well put away. Hat Trick hero

Ridiculous decision; never a penalty. That should be Arsenal sorted though.

**** off Ronnie he's put his hands in a ridiculous position

  • Administrators, Computer Games Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 32,408 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭Mickeroo

Shocking decision but feck it. First Arsenal hat trick for Ollie I think.

The problem I have with giroud is he never scores in the big games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Nice pen. Harsh penalty and yellow. Arsenal needed that as olympiakos were coming back into the game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,690 ✭✭✭✭Skylinehead

I think that's a fair penalty, he's stopping a shot with his hand. Didn't mean it of course, so yellow is very harsh.

Its extremely harsh. Hes on the ground. He's not even looking at the ball. That situation happened in the premier league a few days ago and it wasnt given.

How is that a harsh penalty? He blocked a clear attempt at a shot with his hands.

Definitely ball to hand rather than hand to ball.

This is a big game, actually.

Hes on the ground because he jumped in front of the ball lol, his hands are in a completely unnatural position and he stops a shot on goal because of it. Can't get away with it due to ignorance

I don't get Man U fans. Last night was exciting football. This is straightforward bullsh!t. Arsenal are so boring to watch.

I thought he'd scored one in the fa cup so went to google it. When I typed in giroud, google.suggestions were:
    Giroud tattoo
    Giroud hair
    Giroud haircut

The game has gone to f*ck

He slides in front of the ball. His hand naturally goes to ground to soften the fall. His hand is in a perfectly natural position.

Therefore, not a penalty. As far as I understand the rule, there has to be intent, and he wasn't even looking at the ball.

Regardless of the manner of the penalty, Arsenal have been the better team since the 25th minute and deserve to be winning this. No two ways about it. Once the first goal went in, they have looked much more confident.

The rules say absolutely nothing about intent

90% (citation: my arse) of handball calls have no intent. Flamini earlier in the half, for instance.

If that's the case, fair do's. Still an extremely harsh penalty though!
    ;)

Is it not a question of whether your arms are in a natural place?

Wenger should be getting Ozil off if he's carrying an injury.
    Madness not to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

He should probably sub Giroud at this stage as well, given he has taken a few knocks.
