Are there many draft picks to go??? Also, is March 23rd the deadline for all write ups, or just the first show? I'm assuming the former.

It has lowed down so much the past 2 rounds. This (below) was how the round order went for this round (decided by average draw thus far). So we are now at LTSC as Mrk just missed his 24hrs as I believe Brian has also this round. SO 6 left to pick and then potentially 2 catch up picks (although Brian having talked about maybe pulling out and then saying he will stick up a PPV when he missed his go this past round perhaps he isn't looking to make a catch up pick and has all he wants to base that card off)
    1# ABradMaddoxGuy : 11.715 average before rd15
    2# Beakerjoe : 11.714 average
3# Brian Regan : 11.713 average Missed pick
    4# Necrominus : 11.5716 average
    5# Cheese Wagstaff : 11.5715 average

    6# Shagnasti 11.213 average
    7# Stereomaniac 11.071 average
    8# Uncle Walt : 10.928 average
    9# DM_7 : 10.856 average
    10# JP Liz: 10.5703 average

    11# PTH2009 : 10.5701 average
    12# SlickRic : 10.4999 average
    13# LeeJM : 104997 average
14# MrKiscool :10.4993 average Missed pick
    15# Lord TSC : 10.285 average

    16# Bounty Hunter : 9.857 average
    17# Paulie21 : 9.785 average
    18# Imnotthehulk : 9.512 average
    19# MNG : 9.427 average
    20# Thebostoncrab : 8.714 average

The march 23rd deadline was for everything. So 2 weeks at this point!

That said as much as I shouldn't point this out (because I don't want people working off the fact that it will happen and going slower) We usually have an extension granted because many (if not most) people need extra time and I would not be surprised if that happened again this year.

Thankfully we should get to my 15th rd pick today and then I can finally start posting up some shows

I'm itching to get writing but don't want to start anything until my last pick is made, so the longer this takes the more I'm worrying about how long I have to write all the shows!

I was in the same boat, so thankfully I was able to draft early this round.

Structuring my feuds is a thing Im having an issue with, trying to figure out how to escalate and move forward a feud to get to the right place (the match at the PPV) so that the match is nicely set up and not just happening for the sake of it.

Hey guys, I am far too busy with college to be able to continue this. I thought I'd be okay but with only 2 weeks to do write-ups I really won't be able to carry on like. Sorry about this.

I do kinda expect there to be an extension as well there almost always is and if anything the actual drafting is ending later than usual this year. We usually finish up around mania time and all you technically need to put together is a PPV card so are you sure you don't wanna finish this out considering how long you've been doing it?

Well if the extension is another 2 weeks I definitely could, but I'd need 4 weeks.

pm sent on the matter, don't wanna be encouraging these pesky drafters. :pac:

We always have to extend the deadline but if we act as if its not the official deadline then we will just have to extend the next (real) deadline

Quick question; is the pre1970s rule still in affect, or did it get knocked off a few rounds back?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,823 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

    its not in effect

BH, If I didn't get Zeb, Fritz was my next choice. Zeb was ideal for me, but Fritz would have brought the Von Erich sons down a different path in my fed had I drafted him. He would have been the father who could never be pleased and I hope he does well for you.

I have a plan in mind for him and Waldo although I'll be honest im not taking them full on Nazi as I wrote a lot of it with the fact that I might have had to pick someone else in mind and that particularily yourself (earlier on, i've been busier and written less recently) with the VE boys might have taken him.

The more I think about it some rosters coulda had a lot of fun with Fritz and Waldo, imagine the Nazi duo of Trumps goons for example.

Getting Jack Brisco was just as important though as although I had a backup pick to fulfill the same role Gerry Brisco woulda been a bit of a loose end in my plans without big bro Jack

whoops sorry, I honestly thought he was still available at the time, was waiting for him to be drafted actually esp after his suspension.

I really hope he wears a I'm a hugger T-Shirt (though I dunno if it was actually a hug but or more of a jovial tug on the shoulder but I remember it being reported as a hug at first) when he returns from suspension.

oh and on another note... BWA Raw Show number 1 is up!

Good to know I wasn't the only one busy writing. Just finished my week three show (links to my previous shows in this post too).

Monday Night Grappling - Week 3 Show (Power Corrupts)

No Cornette on this one so no shots at rival rosters, but there are a few surprises in store.

Feedback welcome as always. I will give feedback to shows I've missed over the weekend.

Some feedback, will try to give more on others tomorrow

    beakerjoe ;
Even though I knew it was coming (you traded her from me) I loved the Ronda Rousey reveal. And the staredown with Sasha was brilliantly written. Horsemen Reborn are set up to be a bad ass group. Now holding your 2 top singles titles is a major coup for them. Im assuming we will get Gargano/Ciampa vs The Von Erichs too. Love Zebs booking so far too. Very borderline as to whether is legit trying to help Kerry or messing up on purpose. Loved the Breeze Zoolander bit and Breeze vs Martel is a great bit of booking. Seriously impressive work so far :)

    MNG ;
Wow where do I start?! Everything is booked so well. All the stories interweaving through DiBiase is brilliant. Ishii v Vader has been built so well. Bock/Stevens vs Money Inc is pardon the pun a money match now! Just Joe stirring shít is great. LAX vs The Cowboys is gonna be a war. Its Mexico vs USA again but its booked right which means it works. Edge and Finn has been masterful so far. Edge turning on the first glimpse of Finn letting his guard down is just Vintage Edge. Brilliant so far man

Seriously lads the standard so far is crazy. HHH needs to be looking on here for the new NXT booker :pac:

    More feedback:

    Cheese Wagstaff -
First off, Cheddarama has to be the best named PPV in the game! I liked the opening segment and how you made the title feel important. Also nice to see the Curb Stomp is not banned on your show. O'Haire was written really well and I like the way you had him pull Henry's strings. I loved that gimmick revamp for Pedro and Carlos and you chose the perfect theme music for them too. You did a great job with the main event and that promo at the end was excellent. (Love that 'Well….JAAAAAAAHN' bit from Seth.) Can't wait to read the next instalment.

    BH (preview show) -
I liked your opening address on the preview show and the reference to previous years. It made everything feel big. It's weird seeing Heenan on a show other than Liz's one but you have taken to the character really well and I can see he will be a great asset for you. I liked Heenan getting screwed by time constraints from Barry. That was a nice touch. The character profiles were well done and easy to read. Very intrigued to see where you're going with Kowalski. You piqued my curiosity there. I liked that you kept Brock til the end and the promo was perfectly done. This was an excellent start to your title defence.

    BH (show #1) -
Rude is another great character to have and you have captured his character well. Also nice to see Patterson giving George a beatdown. I'm curious to learn more of Nikki's role with George. Poor Barry lost - I wonder will he get a win before the season's out? I liked that there was a title change and it makes me wonder what's in store for the Briscos and Kowalski/Von Erichs. I liked Daniel Bryan's promo and even that shot at Monday Night Grappling and WECWF was well done (I need to up my game on that score!) When Brock came out the segment became MONEY. I badly want to see this match now, so well done with that. The main event was a great read. Well done to walt on okaying Punk losing as not a lot of people would have done that, and well done to your handling of it as you definitely kept Punk strong. This was another excellent show.

    LeeJM -
The AJ segment was really well done with the tease of it being Taz with the car. I thought the AJ promo was great and made him easy to sympathise with, and I liked that line from Corino about Taz being a sick, evil human being. You're doing a super job building this match. The Y2J promo was well done too and felt authentic. I also enjoyed reading Finlay's comments and he comes across as very dangerous. The ending segment was brilliant and I liked that touch of yours of having DDP wrestle in the opening match to make it even more of a surprise. That was very clever and DDP now seems like a major player because of the Zoetic angle. Great stuff and I look forward to the next episode.

I will get to the next few shows soon.

cheers for the feedback MNG, obviously any more is hugely appreciated. I will try to do up some soon although I did read the entire first page of the evaluation thread at once so perhaps it might not be the most detailed (always feel its better to read and afterwards make a few notes if im giving feedback).

Cheers again ABMG, once more I will copy and paste that into the OP of the evaluation thread.

The Picks thread will be closed in a day. Brian Regan has decided not to do a makeup pick for his missed go in the final round and i've pmd Mrk to see if he wants to do one. He has been busy recently and I doubt he would have recieved a pm (considering it was a makeup pick after someone not making a makeup pick) so giving him today to see if he wants to even though its been a few days since the last pick.

After it's closed we can post names freely in reference to who wasn't picked and how surprised we are that x, y or Z wasn't picked. For example there is one name in particular 1/2 names in particular I am surprised were never taken.

Oh and a word of advice, never write a Royal Rumble match then afterwards do a trade that involves 11 wrestlers :pac:

thats how I intro that my next show is up (really hope I made all the edits correctly and there is no references to Benoit and Co still in there ha!
BWA Raw Pre-Show (Preview of the promotion for 2016 post) & BWA Raw #1

BWA Show #2 The Royal Rumble

    BWA Rumble
ok maybe the outcome of the Rumble was a little predictable but predictable isn't always a bad thing and I think in this case it makes sense plus even though as a reader and a smart fan there may be less shock factor but imagine being in the crowd for it, they would def be sent home happy and anticipating what is to come!

As said I read everything together (and have only read pg1 of the evaluation thread) so sorry if this isn't the most detailed but hopefully now when I read the next few it will be easier to give more specific feedback but wanted to get something down for now.

    Necro:
Loved the Hardy / Andre match, had a PPV feel to it the way you wrote it and really had me interested in both as characters and thus or main event story also really enjoying your use of Disco inferno with Kane / Pete Rose.

    A BMG:
You really made your lions faction seem a big deal and the more I read it it was quite the coup for you to have gotten all those guys together I'm curious to see what you do with them but as usual Pillman looks like he could be a roster MVP. That said your Batista reveal esp using The Miz in the way you did was really good so he could be a show stealer too plus I am curious which kinda Big Dave we get.

    MNG:
your intro was great and I agree with the person who likened it to Mortal combat, I particularily like Finn trying to leave the Demon behind. Maybe I am just used to your writing so I wasn't surprised with Edges appearance in the BR (guess I felt a typical MNG ending would have more of a kick to it before that) but everything you write just makes so much sense especially the way you explain all the backstories, no doubt a contender for the title again.

    LTSC:
I think yours like TBCs last year is definitely the most unique of all the submissions so far and although I dunno if I can say best yet I can 100% say you will be a contender as I think you are the one I am most interested in seing more of if simpl cos it stands out so much with the Trump lead world you have created.

    Paulie:
the first episode just wet the appetite and then the second episode seemed to really get htings going. I'm very curious where things will go with the Rock and his family members after what happened after Dwayne's debut especially as you do have many more of the family on your roster.

    DM7:
Your trade for Piper seems inspired reading your posts (dunno yet if youve done more on page 2) the panel esp was fun reading with Big Mark and co asking the questions. Looking forward to reading Austin Aries v Eddie Guerrero v Randy Orton in your next show and who or why Piper is dragged into the ring. Similarily im curious will Shane O Mac end up squaring off with someone inside the ring.

    Shagnasti:
I do love how you got all the same era stars together and are now running with that. Seems swagger will also have a big role to play and tbh that makes perfect sense as the patriotism angle worked big time back then like with Sgt Slaughter. Looking forward to seing what you do with Ventura after the fun I had with him

    LeeJM:
I am very interested in seing how AJ is used given what ive read so far (think you already did more with him i've not gotten to read yet), James Mitchell and his Church of the Zoetic has also piqued my interest so will def have to read more.

    Stereo:
An entire show seemingly to put over the Big Show... and yet I quite enjoyed reading it...whats wrong with me :pac: Def interested in what you have in the works for Bret though and there is plenty on the roster who i've not seen yet to make me really wanna see what you will do after this first installment.

    Cheese:
very nice Preview with the pope although ive not gotten to show 1 yet so will comment more when I do.

    Slick:
Using Mayweather as the Owner with the promotion as his plaything and Sapp (who I still feel was a great draft at the stage you got him) and co as his henchmen is a nice move and gives your show a unique feel. From your intro it feels your going for HHH vs Misawa but then again despite interference that has happened already at a few of your backstory PPVs so maybe you will surprise us with something different or just a big stip.

    PTH2009:
ha the fighting Irish fed and yep anyone in that fed will be in for a scrap with Sheamo, Shamrock, The APA, Lashley Rhyno and Owens among others not to mention Arnie. Will be interesting to see how you work them all together... I'm sure you wont do it but im imagineing a brawl for all type scenario :D

Cheers for the feedback Bounty Hunter. I think what I have plans drawn up for might end up making anyone who reads it scratch their heads, so I'll take the praise while it lasts, ha ha. Anyway, I hope to fine tune my second episode during the ad breaks of Raw later on tonight.

    Feedback (all Bounty Hunter/BWA)

    BWA Preview :
The opening montage was a nice touch, you sure have had some
great feuds matches down the years. Loved the unexpected appearance of
Barry H, great to see so many jobbers being used so well while also
drawing anticipation for Heenans real announcement.. Nice way to write out
Punk and write in Daniel/Lesnar and you’ve cleverly written in your draft
trades too. I liked the role you’ve given Killer Kowalski, and I loved your
continuous use of George. You did a great job building up Brock (like he
needs it ha) and I look forward to the first show.

    BWA Raw :
Love the usual jibes at Walt and MNG. Nice way to introduce Rude
and continue the Patterson/George feud. I liked how El Santo and Guerrero
are being portrayed and I wonder is a split in the works? The feud with The
Briscos and The Von Erichs and Killer is a great old school feud that would
put hairs back on yer chest! And the Brainbusters looked as strong as ever
in BWA. The Bryan segment mimicked his real life speech nicely but imagine
if Brock did that then, wow that would be major heat. Brocks a heel and
that would be a very hard thing to do in reality but beating up a humble
Daniel Bryan during his speech would accomplish that. Good job. You did a
great job with Punk (really thought he would just no show) and he looked
strong in defeat. The Heenan family going forward look impressive and I
look forward to the rumble (which I’m reading next.) Top stuff so far, but
I expected nothing less after last year.

    BWA Rumble:
Firstly you’ve done a fantastic job of building up Killer and
his crew, you really made them a big deal already. Delighted to see Fritz
being used well as I thought of adding him to my roster. Nice subtle
pairing of Nikki and George being cleverly written (loved that Nikki used
his move, its the little things like this that ad to the story). Gory is a
great throwback to Eddies original Latino Heat character with Aja as his
Chyna, great stuff. Lesnar v Monsoon reminded me of Vader v Monsoon after
the 96 rumble to an extent and Brock is being used to perfection. Poor
Barry, he cant catch a break ha, great use of him again and I know you’ve
more plans for him up your sleeve and part of me really wants him to
succeed. Very curious about the Zayn/Generico story and Bryan entering last and winning was expected but it really is the only way to go, Very interested to see how he explains how hes back after the beating he took from Brock. Overall its been a pleasure to read and it adds, as expected, another top quality BWA draft experience.
