Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

United have started well this season, but the big question is have they enough points to stay up? Defeat at a relegation rival is not a good sign.

    Hahahaha Chelsea banter.

No. This is United playing Bournemouth.
I know who is playing. Have you an actual point to make as to why a load of youth players with no experience in defence should be able to win just because they're United? It is spelled phoenix by the way.

Might struggle to qualify for the champs league at this rate with spurs and liverpool improving.

He has no 1st choice defenders to be fair.

Looking at the bench, he probably could have played a stronger defence.

More chance of conceding again than scoring at the minute.

Memphis really gives the ball away a lot.

    ridiculous miss

I know how is spelt thanks very much. It's the internet you know, there's a few other people using it.

And yes, United have so much more resources that even out cleaners should be able to give Bournemouth a run for their money.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,171 ✭✭✭Neamhshuntasach

That wasn't straight forward as he was leaning back. Bu the other was one was a horrible miss. Should have been at least 3-1 from both Murray's chances.

    Hapless and hopeless.

If they give LVG another fortune to blow they are mad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,171 ✭✭✭Neamhshuntasach

Fellaini looked most likely to score for United. Strange sub.

Surprised with that. While fellaini is extremely frustrating at least he was doing something today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,595 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

    Hereeeeees Powell

  • Registered Users Posts: 475 ✭✭twinex

What we are watching here is our slow decline into midtable........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 488 ✭✭Rob Thomas

Powell on again. Fellaini had waned in the second half alright but this is some team out now considering all the money spent

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,889 ✭✭✭✭The Moldy Gowl

Jaysus. Lvg is some man for subs.

Fellaini has been the only one getting shots off in the box and he is off.

"Glen Murray is a great finisher" has to be one of the most un-prophetic lines of commentary of all time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,850 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

That is one weird substitution. Mata was arguably our best player against Wolfsburg and got the hook. Mata is anonymous today, Fellaini arguably our best player today gets the hook.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

    Fellaini for Powell.

    What a joke.

Just give the ball to Martial, united lacking from everywhere else.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Incredible feet that Martial fella has, last fella i saw with close control like that in the premier league was Suarez.

This argument makes no sense though. Bournemouth are a Premier League team on merit which in itself makes them stronger than any Premier League team's reserve teams.

All these 'our reserves should be beating this' is just hysteria that has no basis in reality. There are very few leagues in the world where even the bottom teams can't beat the top teams in their day. Even the great Barcelona have to suffer this indignity occasionally.

A depleted team featuring McNair, Bothwick Jackson and Varela in it is not going to be very strong, obviously. If the argument is that United should have stronger 7th, 8th and 9th choice defenders then I think it is a harsh one.

Not particularly, I didn't say we would beat them easily. I said they would at least try and challenge them. Not whatever this woeful stuff is.

I haven't been watching, but just wondering why Phil Jones is on the bench given all the injuries. Is he not fully fit and there just for appearances or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Arter could be a decent option for Ireland. I'd like to see him get a run in the friendlies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 488 ✭✭Rob Thomas

Blind can't believe how slow Jackson is

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,406 ✭✭✭Korat

Free kick in Bournemouth half, play it backwards, play it sideways then lob it aimlessly into the keeper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,850 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Bring on Young for one of our full backs ffs. 7 mins left and we need a goal.

"He is lacking in match rhythm"

LVG doesn't usually start a player returning from injury without giving them a sub run-out first.

Bournemouth play nice football with average players. What kind of football does United play?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,292 ✭✭✭GreNoLi

The team that wins the league this season won't be the best, they'll be the least crap, it's great though.

Better football with better players. The league table rarely lies.
