Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Liverpool vs West Brom Match Thread

    There was a time,
    a time before Sky,
when the Reds of Liverpool reigned supreme,
when people believed everything they heard on Match of the Day.

But in the Sky Sports era, Liverpool needed a manager to get them back on their perch.

    And in Germany, one Coach
was more man than the rest.

    His name was Jurgen Klopp.

He was like a god walking amongst mere mortals.
He had a laugh that could make a wolverine purr,
and glasses so fine they made Ronan Keating look like a hobo.

    In other words,
Jurgen Klopp was was the balls.

    0-2 West Brom

3-0 West Brom, J. Evans hat trick.

    Disappointing, lacklustre 1-1.

Hopefully Coutinho, Lallana and Henderson will start. I'd almost start Origi ahead of Benteke too.

I think this will be a match where who scores the winning goal shall win.

After Utd ballsing it up a Baggies win is a near certainty.

Another Sunday of not taking advantage.

Unless, of course, it's an OG by Martin Skrtel.

Interesting one today. Liverpool know avoiding a 3 nil defeat will keep them in the top half of the table for at least one more week.

Klopp to park the bus I wonder?

When was the last time Lucas was left out of the starting XI.

No Smith in the squad is surprising.

I imagine the West Brom driver will park the bus himself.

Your 'quality' is declining as rapidly as your teams title chances.

    Just been rested I'd say

Surprised to see Ibe and Lucas on the bench, Lucas goes without saying and Ibe has the ability to beat a man and possibly feed Tekkers from the end-line and is different in style to Lall/Cout. This could be a bloody snore-fest if Brom get comfy defending.

Nil nil or 1-all written all over this.

I was of course being sarcastic. With Rodgers gone this this doesn't apply...

As a matter of interest, which international sports broadcasters will be covering this event? Is it just the guys from Bein? This is part of a project I'm going on, eh, international football coverage.

He didn't go to play Sion, so that shouldn't be an issue!

Amazing that Lucas is only 28 the way he needs to be 'managed' you'd swear he was 35 with creaking bones!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,796 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

    Look very narrow.

Maybe we're looking at playing a higher tempo game with less need for Lucas, considering WBA will probably play deep

If that is the case we would need attackers that can beat a man with pace and create something, worried

This is the type of game Benteke should do well in, pacy players are better against high lines sure.

I'd love to see stats on where liverpool are on the amount of misplaced passes in the final third.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Benteke is going to get nothing off the ref.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,948 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Coutinho coming deep to pick the ball up is very important without Sakho

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,791 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Benteke could of been a bit quicker to react

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

Should have scored or at least make the keeper work there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Benteke has to want that more.

Coutinho so close, some decent football.
