Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Does anyone remember this?

At the Golden Globes in 1998, a tearful Ving Rhames, having won for Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Film for his role in Don King: Only in America, asked Jack Lemmon up on stage, and gave him his award (Lemmon had been nominated for William Friedkin's version of 12 Angry Men).

    Quite a sweet moment.

What a thoroughly random thing to post!

Maybe I'm in a minority, but I don't think that is a "sweet moment" at all; more like a completely awkward moment, with a cringe-worthy display of idiocy from Rhames. Jack Lemmon played it just right, though: the right amount of incredulity and grace required in reaction to such mock-sycophantic carry on. Could Rhames not have accepted his award with a bit of dignity? I'm betting he (Rhames) had the award returned to him in a matter of minutes and still has it. I'm sure Lemmon didn't need another one, in any case.
