I still would of prefered a WW2 setting or follow up to 2142.

WW2 will be the next game, it will be called BF2 ;)

I have to say, I really enjoy incendiary grenades.

Me too until they stopped getting kills players just go prone now to put out the flames. Gas nades are much better and you get 2!

chuck a gas grenade at a sniper and laugh as he tries to decide which is better mask death or the no scope.

I don't really get how gas is killing people?

You just put on your mask and there you are.

If it lands on you when you are already getting shot up. Or if you are in a room and it gets pegged in.

In Battlefield its rarely just one thing. Its a combo of loads of things happening at once that get you killed by gas.

I think I like incendiaries for the same reason I hate gas. I gravitate towards to closer quarters parts of the maps and incendiary grenades are great for killing people or flushing them out of hiding. On the receiving end, they're short lived. They either kill you or you dodge them and then carry on.

Gas though, whether it's friendly or enemy, is just irritating. Any close quarters area will be constantly shrouded in gas so you have to have your mask on constantly and everything is an ugly dull green. I just don't find it fun or interesting at all.

Love the gas grenades, if I'm surrounded I'll gas the entry points to the room and wait in the cloud for some have a go heroes to run in. It's always multi kill.

Also, that support gun with the 200 round magazine is a death machine. Equipped it for the first time yesterday and by the time I powered off last night, I was already at 177 kills with it :D

Easily troll snipers on your team with the gas nades too :D

They are somewhat obnoxious though couldn't agree more.

Don't understand the fear of snipers, they are obvious COD players by a mile. Gas and AIR mortar will **** them up in no time

Some amount of lemmings playing the game.
If its not medics that are 1M away from you that dont revive its squad leaders totally oblivious to order requests,or its just clueless players in general.
I went 54-0 in a tank on a game of conquest, some good play but a hell of a lot of fools just doing silly things made it so easy for me.
Never seen such a poor standard of players for a PC multiplayer game.

Yeah I've found I can survive pretty much forever in a light tank, just gunning down infantry, unless a reasonably decent heavy tank driver happens to show up and catch me in a tight spot where I can't get behind him or something.

Even though theoretically it should be fairly simple for a pair of infantry to take me out, they all just seem to stroll past obliviously, or run really obviously right for me and get blasted. Snipers won't move, even when my zeroing shot misses them by about 5 feet. There's a lot of total incompetence out there at the moment.

I don't really throw it to kill people though, it's usually either to find out if there's people lurking around a corner from seeing the hit markers or to force them to do something - A lot of players will just coming running out or start shooting when it goes off. And then there's stopping snipers.

I find it pretty atmospheric in places, dulled sound and people coming out of the fog.

That's a bit of a crappy attitude in my opinion.

I'm pretty crap at battlefield I know that and I prob do things stupidIly to make it easy for God like warriors such as yourself but caling people lemmings and fools just because they maybe are new to an excellent game or just play it for the buz of it is crappy but I damn love the game and love playing with other people online.

There is plenty of room for everyone and every skill level we all start somewhere.

Ah don't take it personally. I think if you're a fairly seasoned Battlefield player it's just jarring that there are so many people at once who don't get how the game works. There are always new players, and that's fine, but this particular release seems to have garnered far more of them than usual, to the point that those of us looking for the 'proper' Battlefield experience are sort of left waiting for pretty much everyone else to learn the game. Which of course is a tad annoying.

From my perspective at least, it's less a judgement of individuals, and more an observation of the situation. I'm dying for more coherent team and squad play to emerge.

Aye the MG15 n.A Suppressive + Mortar Air + Gas grenades are such a great combo for bringing the pain to enemy players :)

Ahh I'm not taking it personal that way I have played alot of bf4 and bf3 but I'm new to following battlefield on here and it's stuff like that that puts me in joining games with others it's like a complete oh I'm so much better then you culture.

I think alot of it is down to people just not hitting Q and spotting the enemy. It's the same with enemy planes, in that 2 -3 players can drop one with just gun fire but 99% of the time they just ignore the pilots and get farmed the entire game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,080 ✭✭✭✭Maximus Alexander

Ah, well I'm not very good at it anyway despite having played all the way back to BF1942. :D I find it a lot more fun and engaging when you have tight squads complementing one another though, and when the enemy are doing the same.

Yeh I agree I play with a few mates and it's alot better Craic when your in a good squad.

I've noticed people are starting to cop on to the Behemoths now which is good. For the first few days everyone just seemed to leave them wreak havoc, presumably because their own attacks were doing so little damage.

Last night though we were defending on an operation and when the airship arrive the entire team focused it down in short order. I was in a bomber where the pilot was bombing it from above, I was machine gunning it from the rear gun, the front gunner also going at it. One the ground there were tanks parking on inclines and shooting up at it, etc. It was refreshing to see.

I also felt I was seeing more ammo and health crates around the place. It's starting to move in the right direction I think.

Well said. I don't play much multiplayer games for this exact reason. If people find that there's too many people in their game that aren't up to their skill level they should just try and find a group of players that are as good as them and make a party or something.

The total lack of medic-class soldiers reviving people is really annoying, they need to work out a way to encourage greater use, more points possibly for revives? Amount of times you die and see there are medics just meters away but none attempt to revive.

Also need to sort out squad leaders, way too many of them refuse to issue any orders, game this morning I switched squad four times before I found a leader issuing orders and the squad actually following those orders.

I find the game is generally working well and I wouldn't say that it's full of lemmings, in most games I play most players (esp anti-tank assault players) are generally quite good and know what's going on - just the medics and squad leaders I find disappointing.

Also wish all classes could chose bolt-action infantry rifles. I have to play as scout because I want the Lee Enfield infantry rifle, but I'd really prefer to be playing as medic (or maybe assault) with the same rifle.

I do play medic sometimes just because the team needs it, but I'd do it way more ir I could have an SMG. I hate the medic rifles.

I love the medical class on the scar map close combat and loads of cover to revive people.

I just can't use those rifles. Medic is my second most used class but I'd say about a third of my medic kills are with pistols :pac: I liked shorter range weapons with medics in previous BF games because you're usually charging in to revive people and it's nice to have something you can spray with on the move. I'd settle for a shotgun actually.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,013 ✭✭✭✭Wonda-Boy

In fairness you dont have to be a bleeding doctor spock to revive someone!!! I concur with Cully on this one, some of the play is just dam right piss poor. Squad leader is not for everyone I get that, some folks are only getting to grips with staying alive never mind clicking on orders and checking maps left right and centre.

I just imagine the medics as Mr Bean or the like sitting at a desk and the rage subsides.....UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN.

I mean my game performance is bad at best at the moment for whatever reason, most one on ones I get killed through no fault of my own TBH, but I am still rank 8 in medic and 11 in support, if I can do it anyone can.

I'm sick of defending on operations. Every single game I get into its always our squad defending. Ya get way less exp defending compared to attacking and even when ya do a good job of defending they get rewarded with an OP blimp.
