Focusing on kill/death in this game is very bizarre because clearly the best way to satisfy your ego is to climb up the points table. And the best way to do that is by completing objectives and assisting your teammates.

Yeah unfortunately the more you play the more incredibly stupid things you see, it REALLY REALLY is about K : D for so so many people. I played a handful of games last night and I constantly had to switch squads as the squad leaders just would not issues and order, instead they are pissing around in planes etc.

Can you switch squads mid game

Can you switch squads mid game

You certainly can. You can go into the pause menu (if alive) and select squads or you can wait until you die and select squads (This is Square on the PS4) from the loadout screen.

From there you will get a list of squads along with all the members in said squads coupled with the ability to switch teams, squads, leave and create your own squad.

Squads with a padlock on them are locked and cannot be joined by random players apart from friends.

Side-Note: If you play in a party with someone else and join in a game with them you both may be put into a locked squad meaning you will have to unlock in manually via this menu.

I'm finding I waste too much time trying to find a squad that gives orders etc, when I join a game now I create a new squad and let people join it. You might not get anyone in first game but usually by the second it's filled up.

They'll still be useless btw but it gives you more options when spawning and you get to decide the orders

Just played war pigeons for the first time. I think it's a great mode. I did like Drop zone in Battlefront so this is a good fit.

I'd just like to see it become a little bit more objective based as in once you have the pigeon you have to bring it back to your base or another point.

Some great infantry firefights in the game.

War pigeons is great fun with an ok to good team and epic with a good on TS :)

But when you get stuck with sniper monkeys :(

One of the dev team posted on Reddit than an upcoming change is when squadies ask for orders and the leader does nothing they get demoted and someone else gets the leader spot.

They're still a bit patchy for me. Stats are still reset.

Sniper sweet spot while initially felt novel is just silly now and really doesn't require much skill.
It encourages campers to camp at a range that's perfect for their weapons sweet spot then its just an easy 1 shot kill.
Add in the airship that arrives when a team is losing only to 90% of the time end up winning the game for the initially losing team, idiotic in the extreme.

    Other than that great game.

Is anyone else suffering from a bug where you throw a grenade, and then can't fire your primary or secondary weapons? I'm on PS4 and it's seriously frustrating when you want to chuck a grenade into a room then follow it in with fire, or if someone comes into a room after you've chucked a grenade and you end up getting destroyed.

Has happened with both assault and support class weapons.

The absolute best thing about being SL is that you can issue and order to cap a point you are not even at and you get extra points....so say you are running towards C and B is about to get taken, order to hit B as soon as its taken re adjust orders!

Having trouble getting online. Playstation 4 ether net cable and over 100mb download speed. I click into quick match conquest and it just keeps telling me an unknown server error occurred. Same when I browse servers. Just won't let me on.

I've tried on the WiFi then went to ethernet cable and even tried using my phones Wi-Fi hotspot which is 4g connection. Just won't let me online.

Could it be my connection or some sort of underlying problem with my game?

Think I may have to delete and download again!

Edit: It's letting me into a game of rush, but they're games with only a couple people that haven't even started cause not enough people.

Servers are having trouble. Nothing to do with the game files deleting and re-downloading won't fix it as its server side. Was getting it a couple of nights ago on pc too.

Also getting really high pings to Irish servers in the server browser but when in the game ping is low.

There is so many playing now the servers are trying to keep up with demand.

Servers are dodgy, myself and countless others are logging in to see complete resets of rank and stats...

Yep it's been like that for the last hour for me.

Edit: Still have all my weapon unlocks and earned warbonds but I'm rank 0 with no stats.

2nd edit: Played a round or conquest, rank and stats now restored. Weird

The server browser is brutal ingame even when working TBH....even when you apply filters its arseways. Never click on quick game it gives you the ****tiest performance around...I always wait in queue for 1-2 places and then get a really good server and when I am finished I add it to favorites.

Was on last night about 2am and servers started go a bit wonky and I lost 2 battlepacks trying to open them.
Looks like a night of the divison or NBA2K17

    Battle packs aren't worth a ****e anyway

    Absoutely infurating games tonight...

Lost a tonne of games due to absolute retards.

    Muppet #1
One match we had it in the bag. Our guy locks the door of the bunker at our spawn side. All we could do was watch this muppet get owned and none of us could get inside to disarm the bomb. Game lost with 3 tickets left to go.

    Muppet #2
We are on the last position in Rush and our tank guy decides to leave the heavy tank right beside (B) and go and plant the charge himself. The enemy steals the tank and we can't make a simple plant after owning this team the whole way through the game.

    General
    • No medics
    • No focus fire on tanks so any team with a tank completely destroys us.
    • ****ing idiots that keep running into incendiary grenades after the enemy have planted on a position even after typing a team message stating to simply use a smoke grenades on them before defusing.
    • Morons who hold the tanks miles back when we have to plant when attacking.
    • A whole lot of other **** could be listed.
I don't think I can stick with this game if its going to be noob central :P

I'd say I've made all of those mistakes and many more. It's a lot different to anything else I've ever played so there's gonna be plenty of errors along the way.

Take you final point for example. That's not obvious to someone that's new to the game. In fact none of the strategy is. I won't make excuses for the many headless chickens running around that think they're playing CoD. However I wouldn't call someone a moron simply because they're still trying to figure out stuff for themselves.

The game does a poor job of explaining itself. I've heard that the campaign gradually introduces some of the core concepts but people have every right to jump straight into multiplayer if that's what they paid their money for. DICE have a number of videos on the games' homepage, but rather than using the opportunity to actually instruct people, they instead allow a number of YouTube 'personalities' to post the most basic of videos.

Imagine a small library of 45 second videos floating invitingly across the screen, each one talking about strategy, how best to use a tank, the best position per class in any given situation, what weapon is most effective against what vehicle, etc.

One issue I had recently was with planes. It's been a long time since I've flown anything in a game but I used to be quite good at it. That could be another string on my bow that would benefit the team. But there's no tutorial stage where I can learn the ropes. My only opportunity to fly is in the heat of battle where I'll be costing my team and, more importantly, denying an experienced pilot a plane. It's nuts.

Won't someone think of the noobs?

The single player fighter missions are pretty much a tutorial on flying, and the tank one is pretty much a tutorial on how to be a good tank driver - Knowing when to jump out and repair (Except when you jump out to do it on MP and somebody decides to jump in, drive away and get blown up...)

I'm getting really frustrated with snipers though. Being able to oneshot everyone at spawn from across the map just isn't fun if you're on the receiving end.

And credit to Dice for making the campaign as relevant as possible in a genre where it's frequently overlooked. However the reality is that it will be overlooked and I feel that they could have met that head-on by giving the players a dedicated space to learn the vehicles and weapons. It wouldn't be the coolest or most original of ideas but it might have helped orientate players and lead to a better experience for everyone. I'm sure you can set up a private game and just walk into an empty map, but that's not what I'm talking about. I want it up front and centre in bold writing. Show us how to be better online players from the get-go.

Yes, and I think we can all agree that the snipers head-shotting spawn points from 200 meters away aren't noobs.

Yeah, definitely. Especially when unlocking new weapons - it's annoying to spend warbonds on a gun that sounds decent on paper, and turns out to be crap when you start using it.

It was definitely in BF4, not sure about Hardline but I've no idea why they wouldn't include a training/testing map.

Really? Then it's even more bizarre not having one here.

I agree with some of your points however I was giving them advice and direction in the type to chat.
    • Dont lock doors.
    • Don't run into the flames. Use your smoke grenades to put out the fire.
    • Push the tank forward onto the bomb. Stop holding it way back on the map.
    • Don't leave your tanks. Go down with the ship
    • etc, etc. They even make moron replies.
I am going to stick to my statement about them being morons :p

Well there's no accounting for people like that unfortunately. Why don't they all just piss off over to deathmatch if they don't actually want to run the objectives?

    Morons :P

One thing I absolutely hate in this game is that if you throw a grenade it can hit your own players and bounce back to you, especially in crowded areas with dudes zig zagging all over the shop. Does my ****in head in!

The squad lock option is so annoying, anytime I join a game of operations it's 2 or 3 full squads and then a load of locked squads containing 2, maybe 3.
