The squad lock option is so annoying, anytime I join a game of operations it's 2 or 3 full squads and then a load of locked squads containing 2, maybe 3.

it can be annoying alright but to be fair it happens automatically a lot of the time , you have to remember to unlock it which tbh rarely happens

If you want to practice with vehicles, just join an empty server. For what is worth, the flying missions in the campaign are so diluted, they honestly don't help you online. Actually, I'd go as far as saying the campaign is detrimental to being competitive online. No yaw control or first person :/

    Absoutely infurating games tonight...

Lost a tonne of games due to absolute retards.

Exactly we had a guy last night and the night before who decided the Dreadnought didn't need to move them he decided it was better placed outside the boundary of the map behind our spawn because ..... logic.

It's a great story aspect because you get to play as an ace pilot who gets to fly an amazing experimental aircraft but as you said it's a terrible conversion gameplay wise and more so into Online. It's ridiculously easy to pinpoint shots flying in first person and having a real person as a gunner is something that can't be stressed enough.

What a difference playing with friends makes!

Bought the game day of release and had the occasiaonal hour session the past week (I wouldn't be a hardcore gamer).

Unfortunately no friends had bought the game til yesterday and oh how the experience changed.

Up until then I was in squads only concerned with sniping. Medics refusing to utilise their medic pack and like wise with sharing ammo. I found it beyond stressing to get into it and really play the objectives.

So finally a few of us managed to get online last night and it was by far the most enjoyable experience I've had gaming online in an awfully long time. Makes a massive difference being able to communicate, issue orders and support one another.

Overall I'm loving the game and settings with it being World War based. I thought Hardline was a horror show it felt rushed and as if they just wanted to offer something new with no real substance. Loving BF1 and I'm usually a picky gamer I tend to drift off and play games which are single player based like Fallout etc.

Has anyone any decent suggestions on a strong mid to long range sniper rifle and what type?

I was just thinking the game has a massive shortage of snipers :p

Hahahaha I was playing earlier and went to an objective and I kid you not there was at least 5 of them laying side by side hahaha.

I tend to switch between scout and medic depending on map and how others in the squad line out.

I seem to keep getting rotated between the same 3/4 maps unfortunately though which is a bit annoying.

Servers down at the moment. Painful, had set aside a few hours just for BF1 today.

The mortar is a great bit if kit either for dropping on flags or going for snipers who sometimes seem to congregate in pairs are triplets :)

Needs to be more powerful and a wider blast area, unless you nearly get a direct hit its a waste of time as you are quite vulnerable.

Playing domination tonight and I'd say a good third of team were snipers. We lost unfortunately. At one point I came across 4 snipers trying to capture a point by lying on the ground at the edge of the map firing at it. A brave but ultimately futile strategy.

Similar to the horses I think they're just about right. You see plenty of people using them but they're not melting your head either.

The SMLE is still the best overall sniper, but if you want long range specifically, then the M1903 should be your go to.
However, the combination of the Martini and the Kolibri is as infuriating as it is satisfying :)

No way I have to disagree there. I have hit guys on horses square in the head with a rocket gun and no kill that is just plain wrong.

Doesn't bother me that it's not realistic, if they died easily they'd be useless

There has to be some balance at the same time, they are animals not light tanks. Fair enough buff the soldier using it with extra health but horses taking tank shells or AT to the face and jogging on is ridiculous. Maybe a disabled state is needed like most vehicles?

The gun you get with the anti vehicle kit that spawns randomly is some yolk. Virtually no drop at range and always a one hit kill. Even managed to take out the wing of a plane which then spun out and crashed into a bomber. 5 kills with one bullet.

    LOVE IT

Guys is this the best horse we've had in a videogame? Or does it handle better in Red Dead Redemption?

Had some good games with a few of you guys earlier. Squads work so much better when people are actually working together, any team which has 2 or 3 squads working well always wins. I think we won 5 games in a row earlier.

****ty bug exists though, if you join a friend from the menu, if the squad is full it doesn't let you join any other squads or create a new one either. Was playing earlier and had to go 2 rounds squadless until a slot opened on the person I had joined in the first place, very bad bug.

If your riding a horse and get off you should be able to kill it yourself with one bullet. At the very least melee it and it runs off, just like a real life smack on the arse!

Gets to the objective and dismounts horse.

Thanks for the lift horse...... BANG :D

    You're Tesco's problem now...

I'm sick of lying down, or spawning on someone lying down....then an invisible force just pushes me 5 feet forward.
Also, choosing a horseman, spawning with no horse.

The list goes on and on (Origin/Menu deserves it's own bug thread) , but those 2 are the constant in-game ones that do my head in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,825 ✭✭✭IvoryTower

Thw worst for me is spawning kneeling and not being able to to straight to running from kneeling

Lost every game last night, they were an organised bunch tbf

Played my first online game yesterday, what a blast.

It has some small issues but I hope they learned from BF4 on how to fix them (just hope it won't take that long).

Terrible fix, punish everyone rather then the few.

Quick couple of questions: What do warbonds get you? And where do you get 'scraps' for the battlepacks?

Gave up the first flying part of the SP yesterday and headed straight for Conquest. Was there nearly 80 players in BF4?!

Quick couple of questions: What do warbonds get you? And where do you get 'scraps' for the battlepacks?

Warbonds: Earned when you level up, you can use them to buy gadgets, weapons,...

Scrap: Can be earned by discarding stuff from Battlepacks (skins etc), you can use it to buy other Battlepacks. Battlepacks can also give you puzzle pieces used to create melee weapons.
