My mother has a bank account with BOI.
She is increasingly infirm and we need to help her with bills and payment, specifically with a view to nursing home fees.
Is there a method by which a family member can operate her bank account on her behalf.
She is capable of signing a form at the monent, but preferarably just a once off signiature.
And I also notice her sigiature is getting very bad, so that is another consideration

Hi cml387, thanks for getting in touch.

In certain circumstances it’s possible to have an authorised signatory added to an account. It would be best to arrange a meeting with an adviser in the branch who will be able to sit down and go through everything with you and have a chat about the different options.

You can arrange a meeting online here.

They’ll also be able to let you know if any additional legal documentation is needed in this case. Just make sure to bring along photo ID and proof of address(such as a bill dated within the last 6 months).

I hope this helps, but if you need anything else please let me know.

    Thanks

    Nicola
