Hi folks, it's almost Christmas and my brother & I want to get our dad a weekend or a mid-week trip away somewhere in Ireland as a present. We live in County Clare and our dad is originally from West Cork, so those counties are out. We are trying to think of places to send him (one or both of us will be going with him) and probably won't go until Spring/Summer anyway. He is a very outdoors type of person (mid 60s so nothing super adventurous, mind), loves walks in the country and places with a bit of history, enjoys most sports, loves traditional and Irish folk music. And he loves good Irish food.

So if anyone has any suggestions, we'd love to hear them. TIA. :D

What about a night or two in Delphi and then onto Connemara for a night for trad music etc?
