I would kind of imagine Sony being the type of people who'll rein him in too much and strangle his creativity in order to force games out of him as quickly as possible.

I wouldn't think so. Sony allowed DriveClub to be delayed a year. Uncharted 4 was delayed out of 2015. The Last Guardian wasn't rushed out either (when it probably should have been).

The longer they associate themselves with Kojima, the better for them.

So is Fox Engine actually owned by Konami or Kojima Productions after the whole legal wrangle?

Konami will own it, no doubt about it.

The new KojiPro is not the same as the old KojiPro which was part of Konami. Konami own anything that was developed in the old KojiPro which includes the Fox Engine.

He has also brought Yoji Shinkawa and Kenichiro Imaizumi with him, expect the next game to have mechs, lots of mechs.
Del Toro made a film about mechs too, just saying :pac:
