    I seen 6 bottles of "something" for €50 in Tesco. Looked like champagne from a distance but I cant be sure though.

    If you are looking on the basis of price - you get more bang for your buck with Prosecco, which in my opinion is much more drinkable than Champagne in any event.

    Once you start going cheap with Champagne, you can get some awful muck.

    I'm with you, I prefer Prosecco myself but it's a gift for a Champagne lover. I'm looking for a decent champagne that might be on offer for Christmas.
