    Hi,
Had someone out yesterday for a boiler repair , said he had to order a spare part , (burnt out ignition transformer ) said he would price the part and get back to me,
In the mean time I rang Vokera in kilkenny who said they can send it up to me by courier for 58 euro , Heat merchants in Baldoyle quoted me 50 inc Vat....
Had a call from EI just now to say the part would be 77 euro and another 75 to do the repair.
when I said the part was 50 to buy, he went on about original parts ,I told him it was original as it was from Vokera he just said well thats the price and so be it !!!
Not sure why I am being charged another 75 to do the repair that i have already paid for ??

Feel very badly treated from start to finish by the Home Services team ( with the exception of the engineer who called out ) and will be moving both my accounts to a provider who does not try to rip off its customers

At best it's sharp practice , certainly very misleading , electric Ireland charge you €79 in advance to come out to your house for a boiler repair ,then inform you to fix it you need to buy a spare part but if you want it fixed you must pay again to get them to call back with the spare part , doesn't say this on your website (see attached photo ) then they add 50% to the price of the spare part , I was quoted €77 by Electric Ireland for a part that could be bought from Heat Merchants for €50 inc Vat , and €51 from Vokera.
Absolute robbery from Electric Ireland and the last time I shall ever deal with them , moving both of my accounts away to Bord Gais ... Very disappointed with the service from start to finish,
And to tell a customer if I click on terms and conditions then scroll down and click on to energy services , then scroll down to heating services , then scroll down to boiler repair then scroll down to section 3 part C and read about extra charges that might be charged is basically a crock of ****

Heat Merchants or Volkera should not be quoting boiler parts without an RGI number. And like a lot of specialised materials are Trade Prices.....
