Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Get The Rodgers in for 6 months & push like hell for Guardiola in the mean time for next season (which I think is exactly what they will try to do & gazump City)

    Failing that, Pardiola.

He was given plenty of time but 1 point off relegation in December, for once one can't blame Abramovich for this sacking, they needed to do something.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

The correct decision, Mourinho's press conference post Leicester indicates he knew this was a strong possibility and the aim clearly was to protect his reputation, throwing the players and the club under the proverbial bus. His position, like it was towards the end in Madrid, had become entirely untenable. If his sacking the first time around was premature, this time it was entirely justified.

It means nothing until Harry Redknapps elbow comes out the window of the Range Rover.

It was coming. He needs to enjoy Christmas, take the rest of the season off and come back for revenge. Whoever doesn't get Pep could get Mourinho :P

So Jose and Chelsea are done?

Was hoping he would rot them a bit more before the inevitable happened though. That said, I am delighted the egotistical "so and so" has gotten the bullet.

Im sure his payoff will ease it for him though.

For a while there I though it would be a bad idea to get rid of him, but as it became more hilarious, it... makes sense.

It feels good to see him fail, when he goes on the way he does.

Love that it was Ranieri who put the final nail in his coffin.

    Where to next for Jose?

He's running out of clubs to go to.

I'm no fan of Mourinho, but he wasn't alone in this meltdown.

Players clearly took the foot of the gas, and the executive didn't rejuvenate the squad as no doubt a talented manager would demand, even after winning a title. So many executives and suits and ties seem to just think the job is done when a title is won, not realising its even more important to recruit from a strong position, and keep the squad sharp and on their toes.

was a rather incredible fall from grace. Just goes to show. There would be years gone by I'd be laughing about this, but as a United fan, really cant anymore. What's incredible is that I'm sure no one envisiged such a collapse, but it just goes to show how quick it can happen, and to who it could happen.

There was so many factors in the Moyes calamity, but this is an elite manager with a pretty strong squad : /

Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal for 7016 days. All other managers in the Premier League combined add to a total of 7586, mad.

Has to be Utd next for him. The love affair goes back a long way. He would get them back top of the league but probably not good long term for them.

He had to go. Chelsea have lost a great manager but something has gone on behind the scenes that turned the players against the manager and they weren't trying for him anymore. The physio issue would seem the obvious one.

He would absolutely do my head in if he was Utd manager, but he'd get us back to the top, at least for a while.

He was devastated he didn't get the job when Moyes got it....

If Utd give Van Gaal the heave-ho, I can see Jose relishing the chance of taking the role.

    Hardly running out of clubs!

But I don't think certain clubs would have him tbh, the attitude and negativity he brings with him. Man Utd for example. He will never be there imho.

    Barca out too.

Plus he only goes to places he gets LOADS of money to spend.

I'd say the only teams who could afford to him him what he wants now would be City, Bayern and PSG. Don't think Bayern would like his style so I would bet on PSG maybe.

AC Milan is a big name, but they are unlikely to have the money to spend he would demand.

Who do you think he could potentially go to next then that I haven't listed?

Was quite enjoying his weekly meltdowns so in a way it's a shame, but on the other hand it's nice to see him get what he deserves.

Have to laugh at the Chelsea fans who were trying to convince everyone he was there for the long haul this time around...maybe next time around.

Wouldn't surprise me to see him end up at United once his clause expires if Guardiola snubs them and Van Gall continues to underwhelm.

Hardly shocking. I think Roman wanted to keep him...but it became too much in the end.

Kinda sad to see him go. I like characters like him in the PL.

I'd love to see him at Man Utd ;)

He brings success though where ever he goes which would get Utd fans back on side.

Cant believe Juande Ramos is the forerunner for the Chelsea job, unless he's been away in a Tibetan monastery meditating and studying "Managing for dummies" I cant see good things for post Mourhino Chelsea....

Its not the Utd fans that would appoint him though.
I don't think the Board fancy him or else he would have got it before now.

As long as Bobby Charlton is around the club he`ll never get the job.

On Mourinho himself, the comments he made towards people like Arsene Wenger have come back to bite him in the arse, specialist in failure indeed.
