Why not do tiger prawns in a filo pastry with sweet chilli dipping sauce?
It's a starter I've had before and it was lovely and tasty but light so it won't fill you.
Get some tiger prawns, wrap them in filo and fry until crisp and cooked.
    Serve with chilli dipping sauce.

Trimmings; well, we always have roast potatoes, croquettes, sprouts, carrots and a Yorkshire pudding, but it's whatever you fancy.

Dessert; how about a lime cheesecake?

It's dead simple to make, it's refreshing and not too heavy.
Or if you do want something rich, try tiramisu but only serve it in small portions as it's very luscious.

Can't go wrong with honey roast root veg, with rosemary or thyme.
Or if you want to do something a little different with the sprouts http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/braised-chestnuts-apples-brussels-sprouts

This is what I will be attempting for Christmas dessert this year
