The Internet is an absolute wash with information on travelling South America and is a minefield to navagiate... I`d be looking to start as South in South America as possible, working…

Hi Folks,

I am taking a year out starting next July and will begin with 4 months travelling South America before going to onwards to canada.

The Internet is an absolute wash with information on travelling South America and is a minefield to navagiate...

I`d be looking to start as South in South America as possible, working my way North before going onwards to canada...

Not too gone on the idea of just hopping from one big city to the next as I feel it`s missing out on the culture each Country has to offer..

Has anyone done this trip before?.....What counteries would be best to travel to.....? What sights, areas of interest, landmarks would be the must do`s in this area?

Would like to machu picchu and see some part of the Amazon jungle and outside of that I`m open to suggestions...

I have no idea what to budget for considering a trip like this also.... Flight swill be the most expensive part but i`m guessing living costs are going to be relatively cheap when there....5/6k euros??
