Rare seeds

Hi all,
I am looking for some seeds as a Christmas present.
The problem is I have no idea what they would like. This person is a pretty avid gardener. I would like a mixture of flowers and vegetables. He has a conservatory where he grows many things including Daturas. He also has an allotment where he grows a huge variety of veg. I suppose what I am looking for is a few rare or unusual seeds that he might not have. The most important thing is that he wouldn't have them already. His variety of veg is wide but all fairly standard so any unusual choices here would be fine. His variety of flowers, however is vast and I wouldn't know where to start so in this case the rarer the better. Any help would be much appreciated.

West Indian Gherkins grow in similar conditions to cucumbers and the kids loved them. At this late stage maby just get an emailed voucher from here and let the gardener decide.
