Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

From Italy: Ranocchia has agreed to move to Liverpool, hope a deal can be finalised soon

He was meant to go to Bologna on loan, then it was Norwich and now he's joining Liverpool.

Younes belhanda, a player from the ligue 1 winning montpellier side a few years back has signed for schalke on loan from kiev. Chased the money to eastern europe, probably could have signed for a "bigger" club at the time.

I hate to sound bitter, but he had a choice between Villa, Inter and Kiev, I understand turning down Inter but Villa, the prick :(

Wouldn't believe a word of that. Italian media are sh'ite for accurate transfer stories

When it comes to Italian transfers If it hasn't been covered by Di Marzio then it's probably not true.

If they can keep him fit that is a super signing for them, I have no faith in that though.

Dame N'Doye to Sunderland on loan for the rest of the season.

Not a defender = I'm not interested. Goal scoring is not our problem.

£8m. He can't even get a game for Norwich!

Probably an indication that the finances the EPL teams have won't have as big an impact as you'd expect as Premier League teams will end up paying a massive premium for any players they buy.

Just because he's not getting in at Norwich at the moment doesn't mean the price is wrong 8 mil is not a lot for a premier league club to be paying for a player and to be fair to him he's not a bad player he'll get a few for Bournemouth

Did he not leave Bournmouth for nothing last year?

Jonjo Shelvey to have medical at Newcastle. £12m apparently.

    From BBC
Liverpool have made an approach to QPR to take defender Steven Caulker on loan until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Southampton but that would be cancelled if a deal can be agreed to take him to Anfield for the rest of the campaign.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is currently struggling with a central defensive crisis after injuries to Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho.

Both parties will be happy with that I think. He was obviously finished at Swansea and he's exactly the type of player Newcastle need.

For £2m less they could have had Rodwell though.

£62m spent by Ashley since the summer and almost £40m spent last season, the narrative that he's tight has been destroyed anyway. Over £100m in a season and a half.

And nothing spent 18 months prior to that Paully. Buying in the wrong areas though.

Apart from defence I think central midfield is your biggest need. Definitely could do with a couple of defensive reinforcements however.

Talk of Florian Thuavin heading back to France on loan for the rest of the season.

We only bought him during the summer and while he's only featured a handful of times, I find this a strange move. He badly needs a run of games in the side and coming off the bench for 15-20 minutes at a time does his experience/confidence no good.

Strange one but then again we're a strange club.

Would take him at Villa in a flash.

Doesn't make sense why Southampton would have Pelle and Austin there though, two quite similar players who would both want to be starting I'm sure. £4m is decent business though, even with the contract nearly up, stole a march on a few clubs I would say.

    Or Pelle to Italy
Juve, Fiorentina and Lazio are interested.
Lazio makes sense with Klose applying for his OAP pass soon.

Sunderland have been all over him for a couple of seasons but have never managed to get it done. The last player Sunderland were all over but missed out to to Everton?

    John Stones.

We'll be laughing even more if we get 4m for mcgeady . Bournemouth spent 7m on grabban last week so that puts Naismiths fee into context.

When you look at what United let better players go for,it makes the fee look very odd.Maybe United are really bad at selling on players,we may hire Daniel Levy as a salesman.

Id have loved him at the villa tbh, even for that fee, think he would be a awesome player if we were to get relegated.
And well he could have maybe given us the goals we needed

I'd say the likes of grabben doesn't require huge wages, say 40 compared to 80k per week. 10 mill on 5 yr contract. Still I wouldn't be buying the likes of grabben

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

Considering he left them on a free 2 years ago. 10 mill is a bit much.

It's quite funny the stories of Pato to chelsea. Surely they could do a lot better than Pato. Poor guy is a bit rubbish now after all the injuries
