Xbox one twitch not broadcasting

Basically I was playing mass effect ( backwards compatibility ) and I snapped in twitch however when I pressed broadcast, it wouldn't do anythin, it just stayed in menu Has anyone else had this problem? I have had trouble with the twitch app before Also when streaming do you need to keep the snap open or can u close it
