Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I hope LVG goes ballistic at Fellaini and Lingard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

You know what's gonna happen now? LVG will use this to justify setting up being defensive and boring and giving away less chances.

Fellaini offers nothing to this team as a starter. Cracking game but we needed a win tonight

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

I actually feel for LVG. Fellaini, Rooney and Lingaard have missed big chances. Smalling had a disaster at the back as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭dubmick

Two points from two games against Newcastle. Pathetic.

Just get rid of LVG, Giggs and 90% of those players.

    Agreed.

This was "can't score a goal" Newcastle wasn't it?

In fairness to him I couldn't blame him. Parts of that game we were shocking defensively.

    Lingard and Fellaini :(

Surely one of them has to score.

Top 4 is looking likely to slip away which would be unthinkable given the money spent.

    That's ****ing sick

Man utd throw away a match they should of won. At the end of the day its the managers fault. Bringing on Depay was a crap decision too

That mop head has to go, im broke, id sell a kidney to fund his one way ticket out of the club.

As Harry Redknapp once said "My Nan would of scored that"

West Ham are ahead of us in the table. Let that sink in.

4 fouls in the first 25 minutes, yellow card, then couldn't make a tackle for the rest of the game! Everything about his game disappoints!

I am at a stage where I don't think we can get it. The players aren't good enough and the money spent has been used poorly.

Great game, great entertainment but awful result really and when you look at the table, things really do look bad.

We drop so much frickin easy points against lower end league teams!!!!

    Ah here

    You are raving

Plenty of chances to put the game to bed were missed. LVG can't put it in the net for them fs

Id let Rooney off but the other 2 misses cost us big time.

City or Arsenal would of killed that game off that's why one of them will win the league.

We either have to play boring safe football and keep clean sheets or open up a bit and concide them.

Some better performance s by certain players but we gave Newcastle big chance get back into game second half by totally switching off and they did.

Just remember this is a Newcastle team who hadn't scored in 4 or 5 games before this and they manage 3 against this version of United!!

    Says a lot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

From 2-0 up against that Newcastle team to drawing 3-3 ... Pathetic stuff altogether.

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,755 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

It was like a 2012 game against Newcastle except we won 4-3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,137 ✭✭✭✭TheDoc

Very much sparing Van Gaal here. Two sitters missed, and the team just lost it's head. No idea what the **** that was about.

But absolutely atrocious result. Two points in two games against Newcastle is a 100% embarrassment.

Rooney had a great game. Like the memories of old....

Why is he constantly changing the side? Why can't we put a 90 minute performance together under LVG? Why is it either attack or defend? Why are we still trying to defend a manager that has been a miserable failure at United?

It doesnt matter M!Ck, at the end of the day its his responsibility. Newcastle were the better team in the 2nd half and deserve the draw but utd should be beating the likes of Newcastle.

Newcastle also had plenty of changes to win the match to, lets not forget that.

****ing game feels like a punch in the gut.

Should have shut up shop after Rooney's goal and brought on a defensive player.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,519 ✭✭✭Flint Fredstone

Some very mentally weak players in that team. Rooney the only real positive from tonight, looked to have earned his weeks wage for the first time in a long time.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,638 ✭✭✭✭bangkok

Fellaini's game by numbers vs #NUFC:
    0 interceptions
    1 yellow card
    4 fouls committed
    1 massive miss
    #MUFC

Since we can't both entertain and win I'd much rather a boring 1-0 win than an exciting 3-3 draw.

I thought Martial looked exceptionally sharp. His close control and ability to turn 180 is incredible

Fellaini is getting all the abuse but schneiderlin was nowhere to be seen all night. If he's the holding midfielder then he should be stopping counter attacks instead he disappeared
