Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thats odd, can't remember anyone saying that. Though the false 9 that Hughes deploys does get the best out of Bojan. Playing a real 9 who likes to run in behind, like Diouf, simply shifts the Man Utd defense back and kills the space that Arnautovic is running into. Clearly Man Utd have tried to combat that by congesting the midfield to stop quality supply, and just allowing Stoke to have the ball at the back but occasionally Stoke have found a way to get quality supply to Arnautovic.

No player threw in towel under Alex. If they did they were gone not Alex, roles reversed here players can go through the motions yet manager will pay price. That is what is wrong with United past few years. If you can't support the manager you'll get no where.

4-4-2 formation now no more experimentations.

How can the same referee be so inconsistent within the same game ?

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Why is he booking Bojan but not Martial earlier? Both should have been bookings imo (so from that pov no complaints), but he has to be consistent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Man Utd's press obviously is, and needs to be, more aggressive now that they are chasing the game but leaves their defenders open to 1 vs 1 situations, lots of space for Stoke's attackers to work in.

Bojan was trying to win a penalty is the difference

Can you point to the rule where it says it's a booking if you dive trying to win a penalty but not if you try for a free kick?

You clearly don't know the laws of the game then. There is no difference - it's a bookable offence anywhere on the pitch.

It might better in the long run for Man U if they go on to concede 2 or 3 more rather than come back to narrowly lose or draw- they need a "sh1t on the boss's desk" type event so they can sack Van Gaal for gross incompetence instead of lumbering on in mediocrity.

How does Rooney always get away with the abuse he gives officials? He just told the lino to f*ck off and then called him a pr!ck.

"Rooney has been one of the most vocal on supporting the manager" says the commentator.

Well yeah when you're guaranteed your game no matter how badly you play I guess you'll back the manager.

The location on the pitch makes no difference in the rules of the game. It is just inconsistent refereeing, although referees being inconsistent is one of the few consistencies in football I guess.

    Sh!t talk.

Fergie left that squad in fine shape, the problem is since hes been gone its been horribly mismanaged.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

He has to go. It's obvious he has lost the players. Footballers are too fickle and weak these days to play for their own pride instead of hiding behind the manager.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Good run and ball in from Young. That's what Utd need more of.

He left an ageing side but there was plenty of money there for any new manager to buy the players he wanted.

I think that crossing was mostly from very wide to a static attack, not the clever balls across the face of goal that Young put in there.

I fully support Louis van gaal in his position as manager of Manchester United.
