Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Those Arsenal fans turn so quickly. There we were all getting along at the Christmas house party earlier this afternoon and now the atmosphere is getting nasty.

Just when Arsenal were looking good they get destroyed.

    What a mad season

In fairness, the team should be begging their forgiveness.

Being ****e is fine but they didn't get out of first gear today.

What a wonderful season everyone is ****. We can all take the piss out of each either

They stayed until 84 mins of an awful performance, I've seen United fans leave after 60....this is what pisses me off, sure we were ****e but how quickly we are lynched.... These night time matches away from home on holidays are always a banana skin.... Remembering we lost to them last year too ;)

At least they turned up. Unlike the team.

It actually is unforgivable. The Arsenal lads should be ready and primed for this after a good win on Monday and the chance to go top of the league. They could have made a statement of intent tonight.

    Typical of this season though.

Anyway in the trendy pub I'm in with many drunk young people and been the only one with an arsenal top on I was abused at 3-0, my retort? I bought another pint to go with my previous half dozen xx

Keep this up for the season Shane and get ready for the Euros.

Arsenal really let themselves down tonight. Sure there was question marks over the goals etc but Arsenal have been awful. Not acceptable and Arsenal fans have to accept the criticism levelled at their team that they are not mentally strong enough to win this league.

Man City the real winners here anyway......

    Oh this is delicious! :D

Southampton look mighty, Arsenal in meltdown.

Comfortably our worst performance in the league this season. I'm not going to read any more into it that though. Plenty will and that's their wont.

    4-0.

    Wow

Long has been magnificient. Miss two sitters but scored two great goals and ran his arse off. Arsenal defence couldnt deal with him at all.

Imagine what 'Louis' and co will do to that defence.

Great results all around football friends. :)

Ya let's just write it down as one of those nights.... Let's get the 3 points against Bournemouth, remember we're in a better position then this time last week (pre match ofc)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,501 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

We do Arsenal a favour earlier, and now Arsenal do City a favour.

Nice to see the Gunners in the spirit of giving this Christmas. It's going to be a good title race, that's for sure.

Classic Arsenal, excellent against Man City then they go away to Southampton and lose 4-0. Wenger has gotten the hang of setting up his side to deal with the big sides but in games like this, where they are expected to be the team taking the initiative, they are still so susceptible defensively. Injuries certainly have not helped as Arsenal have been left lacking quality in certain areas too.

I love Christmas. The turkey, the family gathered around the tree, the carols and food and the annual Arsenal collapse.

Be top of the league come Monday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

I'm loving the fact that other supporters are piling in to get their slaggings in.

One bunch whose Manager is on the razors edge and who is playing a standard of football that Stoke under Tony Pulis were famous for. And the other lot who haven't won the league in over a quarter of a century.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭JustTheOne

Hilarious. One loss and its a collapse.

One win on Monday and arsenal are top.

I don't understand how Arsenal fans expect opposition fans to behave in this thread when Arsenal fans themselves know that that Arsenal performance wasn't praiseworthy.

Even Arsenal fans will be having a go at their team after that, so why do they expect differently from opposition fans?

Arsenal were rubbish tonight. Plain and simple. No leaders and no fight.

Yeah but the digs about a collapse is ridiculous.

Its one defeat. Win on Monday and they are top.

It wasn't all about Arsenal not being their usual selves tonight, Southampton were really good and stopped the Gunners from playing their game.

Shane Long was fantastic tonight, Mane was a thorn in Arsenal's side and all eleven men in Red and White stripes played very well.
