No. Bought it couple of weeks ago. I knew it was a mistake to fly in dark.

If you know anyone with another drone maybe they could fly around the area you last saw it, could be stuck on top of a tree or building, hope you get it back

I thought drones came back to base if you lose control of them?

That is assuming they were able to fly. I would imagine it would be the more expensive models too.

The more expensive one's do. Mine was only 100€. You have to have GPS for it to come back to home location.

That's good idea, but I don't know anyone with FPV drone.

you got ripped off, there only around 55E from bangood (chine). and you can get a replacement drone from them without hte controller for around 25, order through europen wharehouse to avoid import taxs.

    good drone, ive one myself

How did you find it, did you do as I suggested and got another drone to do a search of the area it went missing in, just curious to know how it was found.

are they all registered now in case this happens when they are out of range?

That's an awful thing to happen but that drone wasn't out of range it crash landed. It's not like drones specialise in damaging the eyeballs of children, it was a freak accident.

It's very dangerous when you have a remote-controlled, non-piloted aircraft that's flying in areas where there's people

    http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-pasadena-drone-flight-20150916-story.html

Authorities said the baby was being pushed in a stroller by her mother when she was hit with debris from a small, privately-owned drone that came down on Marengo Avenue near Union Street about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
The baby suffered a large contusion on her forehead and a small cut to the side of her head, according to police. She was treated at a hospital and released.

there was a request out there recently to voluntarily register all drone 1kg +, the one here on this thread is more like 200grams so not likely to hurt anyone at all,

hard to explain but drones by nature will break there fall (speed wise) them selves by the force of air rushing throught the props and self level, and glide gently back to the ground, very unlike to hurt anything ,

the general public don't know the deference between this toy class (radi controlled toys) and professional GPS guided long rang 'drones' capable of more sinister things

How can it be remote controlled and non piloted?

Like Notch pointed out, there's plenty of misunderstanding of what a drone is and what differences there are between drones.

Really these are quadcopters, very, very few of them are "drones". Because a drone is a very different kettle of fish to the toy you pay less than €1000 for.

Its a requirement that all drones over 1kg must be registered - its not voluntary

Are you referring to auto-rotation - because I know of no drone that allows its props to auto-rotate. If a prop/motor or ESC fails (quadcopter)... it will fall to the ground.
