Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

These teams are so bad that it may actually be good.

Or, it could be like one of those rubbish championship games that Sky show on Saturdays

Cannot see it being that poor of a game,Chelsea les by Hiddink who needs to start producing results and LVG may well say to his side to play with more abandon as he has nothing to gain from a nil all borefest.

I'd say the only guarantee about this game is Mourinho will get more press and talk from the press and fans that both teams combined.

With confidence on the floor I won't be surprised if Utd set up for 0-0.

Or maybe LVG is just crazy enough to realise the game is up anyway and is going to blow Chelsea away and then resign...

El Mutinio it should be, one set of players who recently ousted their manager against another set in the middle of ousting theirs.... Roll up folks and witness 2 sets of millionaire ne'r do wells!

Rooney with 2, Martial with 7 and Smalling with a fine overhead to deliver another glorious rout of the opposition by the flamboyant aristocratic flair team of the division. Nothing will stop the mighty Red Devil's from delivering another nail into the withering coffin of the Blue usurpers from London.

A victory for football and for all that is good in the world!

Yeah hopefully Chelsea stick with him a little longer.

Hoping this game ends in a draw. Prevents Chelsea from building any momentum from having a new manager, keeps Man Utd back further from the leading pack and hopefully a draw is enough to keep LVG in the job!

    Van Gaal's last game hopefully

Can he bore us one last time?

  • Awful lot of interest been shown to such a boring match-up

It can't be as bad as the Moyes v Mourinho version of the fixture which is still used to scare and punish children to this day.

Will LVG be the second manager hounded out of Utd in 2 years after this game.

So who will this quote apply to next 'Your job now is to stand by our new manager'

    Hounded out?

    Ah here.

    Was Rodgers hounded out?

    Or Hodgson?

    Or Kenny?

No, they weren't, they got the chop because they were not able to maintain successful results.

LVG has been afforded a huge transfer fund and has seen the team go backwards in term's of results. Most fans have been more than patient.

Not when you merely take in the time frame without considering other factors such as the money spent on the squad, results, recent form, style of play etc.

The football hasn't improved in his tenure. United have gone backwards this season. Results have been atrocious. So has the football. It's evidently getting worse the longer he's there.

I expect another loss this evening unless something has drastically changed in the last day.

Rodgers took a team from the very brink of winning the league to 7th (i think) the following season and had them floundering this season til he got the boot, that's about 18 months, should he have been shown more patience?

Hodgson lasted what, 7 or 8 months?

Should he have been shown more patience?

Football is a results game, failure to get results, particularly given the financial backing that LVG has gotten is simply not acceptable. If the signs were there that we were getting better then I'd absolutely give him more time however the fact is we look worse now than we did 12 months ago.

Give LVG until season end at least.

(This is off topic for this thread but I'll answer your post: Weird mentioning Rodgers as he got 3 and a bit full seasons. At the end the team hadn't moved on and he was replaced. That was a decent spell imo. Hodgson was a disaster - skirting near the relegation places.)

And do more damage to the club? Blind loyalty is not the answer.

A bit of brave decisive decision making is required. He shouldn't still be in the job at this stage and Utd are partially in the mess they are in for their lack of decisive action under Moyes reign, where it was as clear as day well before Christmas that it wasn't working and the players had downed tools under him.

If the board had axed him before the January transfer window the season may have been salvaged somewhat and we wouldn't have had the over drastic actions with the squad under Van Gaal, not to mention the cowardly football.

He's been given free reign at the club, with a fortune to spend and ballsed it up royally. Add that with the putrid football that he's dished up and results to go with it and there's no doubt in my mind his time is up.

    Fair enough.

Sounds like the problems are far deeper than the manager though.

Putrid football it is but you'll need to choose the successer wisely to change this.Current favourite for the job is the king of anti football

That might change if Mourinho gets the Utd job.

..anyway two legendary dutch coaches going head to head today possibly for the last time. Should be epic.

Scholes and Rio must have gotten there press release on what to say from the club.

I reckon they know their mate Giggsy won't be getting the job if he is sacked and more than likely will be following him out the door so they are trying to keep him in the job.

I've noticed that the HD picture quality on mutv for matches is vastly superior to BT.
    Noticeable again today.
BT have obviously reduced the HD picture to make ultra HD look better.
