Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I can only imagine the sense of frustration he had, constantly ridiculed as being a tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorist for having an alternative view of something... :D

I know what you mean. He had the facts, he had the proof and he had the knowledge to understand them. But his theory didn't fit with the deeply held belief that Connacht The Earth was the centre of everything. :P

Nope it was too late, too far to dive in it. And answer this simple question : when did VDF grounded between the moment he is in the air diving over the line and the moment we clearly see him held by Muldoon's arm? There's at best a fraction of second, if it has ever happened. So you have to admit the doubt about Clancy really seeing (and not only presumed to have seen) this potential grounding is permitted. Permitted, no more.

In the interests of letting this thread pass away peacefully I'll give you that one...good luck...

    Oohhh! I know this one!

The Flat Earth 'myth' was propagated by protestants in the 18th century as a means of ridiculing catholics. It was never true and evidence shows that the spherical earth theory was well in place long before that.

Christopher Columbus had no fear of falling off the edge of the world in 1492 for example :D

yeah 2000 year, from antique period to 1500. You get what I meant. Maybe Clancy will talk ten years later to proove what was evident wasn't in reality

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 35,508 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

I thought Marmion was way better than Boss the other day. Should he be called up for Ireland?

Oh dear, the farce is strong in this one. :pac:

The ancient Greeks were the first to develop the spherical earth theory. Pythagoras being the philosopher most associated with it in the 6th century BC.

How far back does your 2000 years go?

I know that, was prooven in Alexendrie too in the end of Rome empire. But still just 2000 y of common belief. Don't consider me as a fool please, just because you religiously believe that can't be nothing else than a Clancy cristal-clear sight

There is still a flat earth society you know. Some of its members are even posting on this thread. :pac:

Boss wasn't playing the other day.

I think he is there or there abouts. My bro in law (Munster man) complains that he is too slow to distribute.. However I don't necessarily agree.
I also like that he is never afraid to get stuck in / tackle etc, and had a good bit of speed and is not afraid of the odd pick and go sprints to the line

With all the fuss about something happening in this game I forgot to ask the most important question in relation to it.

When Sean o brien tackled Sean o brien was there a bit of a chuckle from the commentary team?

There may have been but they were speaking Irish so I have no idea. It all sounds like Klingon to me.

The McFadden showing is really nasty. Surprised not more fuss is being made of that, deserves a ban. Lashing out is petulant stuff.

For me what healy did didn't even deserve a yellow, but McFadden deserves red for that. Crazy the amount of fuss made over healy but not much over mcfadden's.

Was thinking the same myself, I guess Healy's happened visibly and was delt with during the game whereas McFadden was after the fact and doesn't come into conversation much regarding the outcome.

McFadden will get 5 weeks plus imo.

A lot of the fuss around Healy blew up because of the balls up of the hearing, lesser charge, suspension lifted, new hearing etc etc., rather than the actual offence.

Think McFadden is looking at 3-5 weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,773 ✭✭✭connemara man

You'd have to say it'll be 5 weeks minimum. After good behaviour is taken into account

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,536 ✭✭✭former total

Just for info, the sanctions are:
    Low End - 2 weeks
    Mid Range - 5 weeks
    Top End - 9+ weeks

I'd say it's mid range, and the guy has a spotless disciplinary record, so 3-4 week ban likely.

Spotted McFadden in a suit shop earlier trying on this very fine looking evening suit. ;)

White doesn't have a Twitter account to give a reply so the apology won't have the same affect ;)

It should be considered a mid-range offense but I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up calling it a low-range one and giving him a week off. This is a Pro 12 interprovincial game after all, boots to the face/head are looked at very differently.

Unfortunately, I think you might be right. One week for that would be continuing the traditional pro12 disciplinary record.

I didn't see the match. Was White injured by McFadden? Could that impact the punishment?

Think he had to go off for a blood injury then came back on.

We're not a French team and Nathan White is a bigger man than Guilhem Guirado (or Pape). White will tell the hearing officer he wasn't badly hurt and McFadden will get a short(er than he deserves) ban.

Just seen it. A nasty stamp without doubt. Out of character for McFadden, but that's no excuse.

He could be looking at a good while off for that.

Was Ah You on as a blood sub when he confirmed the Leinster try?

NO I think he'd been brought on to replace White at that stage full stop

Guirado didn't give evidence at Healy's hearing.

Bit racist there to be honest.

Ah Guirado made a meal of it. To be fair, the shoe fits - not racist when it's all true imo.

French rugby players are a race of their own don't ya know.

The older French players get absolutely riled up by some of the Nancy Boy carry on in the Top 14. Can't even blame the foreigners coming in and ruining the game though.

It's making an unfair and untrue assumption about a player based purely on his nationality. Maybe xenophobia is more accurate. Either way...

But sure if people are OK with it, then grand.

My word man, did you seriously type that? Even the most politically correct couldn't come to that conclusion from his post but sure just put 1+1 together and get a racist/xenophobic accusation.
