Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hope he gets well soon. One of the few RTE presenters who justified his salary. Even though years back i remember he got done over by his accountant money wise?

Russel Murphy was the guys name.

    Lost about £750,000.

Not knowing the man personally why would it Affect me ? Is a famous person having a heart attack worse than a guy who works in Tesco ?

I always thought he was very condescending towards the general public on air. Kept a handy number for far too long and even after retirement from RTE should never have been involved with RSA.

Hope he and his family are OK.
He once said to the man that started the jfc company when he brought his first invention to the lls that "you'd think he was an awful gom" The man now owns the multi million jfc company and is far from a gom.

You wont say that when you're walking around Tesco searching for CornFlakes shouting "Gaybo! Gaybo! where are they? :P

    It has more effect, yes.

Like what ? People get invested in Soap operas too. Not knowing the person outside seeing them on the TV does not affect me in the slightest.

That's great, it has no affect on you, we get it. Obviously people are interested and people want to discuss it.

If you have an issue with posters discussing people they don't know then make a thread yourself, this isn't the place.

This is the second thread warning in a pretty short thread. Stick to the topic please

I actually thought it was his accountant that done away with his money.

Yes. His good "friend" Russell Murphy...who is dead now, and he didn't know that he had taken his money till after he had died ! The other time he lost all his money was his own stupidity....ploughing all his savings into Anglo and Bank Of Ireland shares. Fool me once....

    Is that all?

I know I saw "all", but the way he went on about it at the time I thought he lost everything during it.

I don't understand the comparison with some person who works in Tesco. Everyone is important, but we're more affected by those familiar to us.

If I was familiar with and liked a Tesco worker who had a heart attack, it would affect me and I'd wish them well. I'm familiar with Gay Byrne and I wish him well.

It's not difficult to understand, if you care to try.

The man is in hospital. Show a bit of respect.

This must be an automated response by boards or something.
