Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know Boards.ie doesn't really like discussion on current cases, but I dont want to talk about the man involved, I just want to know why his identity is being protected ? I thought that only applies to the family court and to minors ? He's apparently 50 odd.

Ehhh everyone in court is alleged to have done something until the verdict is reached. That's not reason for your name to be withheld.

So its not a legal reason but one where they're doing him a favour?
Does anyone know if the same applied to alleged IRA members when they were up in court ?

Like the only other thing I can think of that might generate mob justice is someone accused of being a peadophile, and in those cases the accused is named but generally not the victim.

Well I'd presume he's thoroughly compromised by now and anyone looking to get recruited by him would be picked up by the gardai fairly quickly.

What if some family knew their young lad was hanging out in his gaff/mosque wherever, but didn't know what he was up to. That could give them warning and prompt them to intervene or look for help.

He claimed he had rights based off an Irish born Child but a child who's not resident here .
another was killed in a battle in the middle east apparently.
