    KT Tunstall! Happy 2006, everybody!

    Kidding! :D

Working on her fifth album at the mo - should be just as good as each of her previous four. :);)

I maintain that she should have won the Mercury Prize for her first, though. Whatever happened to Antony and the Johnsons, anyway?

Imagine being in one of those apartments at the top of the Shard!

We had (may have got rid since) an office there. If we still do I may enquire about a bit of overtime around this time next year.

Imagine being in one of those apartments at the top of the Shard!

I'd say if you could an afford a penthouse in The Shard, you could afford to pay someone to put on a kick ass firework display in your back garden, (which is probably the grounds of a stately pile in Shropshire,) 7 days a week.

Don't know where you are but back in the days when the Gaiety Theatre was a late night venue there used to be brilliant ska/two tone bands on one of the floors, at least on Saturdays anyway. We'd be guaranteed that it would be getting bright coming home from a night spent there.

Rhiannon Giddens is such a talent, she has been my highlight from Hootenanny.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

Back to Jools now. I have to say, despite being the less cooler of the two gigs, Adams put on a great show. It's going to cost me though, he said he'll be touring soon so interest piqued at that point in the house.

The London office of Al Jazzera English is also based in The Shard. There would be no trouble in getting your news output from there. :D

She doesn't look it at all. :)

Just noticed that Beth Hart looks a little bit like Helena Christensen.

    Just sayin'.

That woman named Beth Hart I think it was , another very good voice.

Haven't of a quarter of these singers but they are just perfect for the night.

We've just had a marriage proposal on RTE1 (I've never understood the idea of turning something so personal into a performance for an audience.....it doesn't strike me as romantic at all)

Totally agree, plus it puts you such pressure to say yes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,598 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

    How tall is Hozier?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,038 ✭✭✭Go Harvey Go

Only one performance by KT? :(

To be fair, though, she is more associated with Jools than any of the other performers... :D;)

And she still gets to share a mike with Tom. :D:);)

RTE should just give up on NYE light entertainment. Nothing works.
    Kathryn Thomas is unbearable.
Why did someone think she was the person for the job?
Hootenanny is not sophisticated and Jules is not a clever dick
Most of the audience are well oiled. Some of the acts are a bit hit and miss
    But it just works
RTE should just show reruns of Halls Pictorial Weekly

  • Registered Users Posts: 618 ✭✭✭breffni bogballer

still 30mins of the ginger one on rte

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,569 ✭✭✭✭ProudDUB

What an utterly fablis show. Such a pity that RTE haven't the wit or the cop on to realize that Ireland is crying out for something just like it, of its very own. And with the fabulous musicians & singers that we have here, we wouldn't even need a fraction of the BBCs budget.

Oh well.... yet another year of wishful thinking when it come to RTE.

    Anyway, Merry New Year all.

Here's to a wonderful 2016 for us all. It was a pleasure to watch so many of this years telly highlights (and lowlights) with you all. I can't think of a lovelier bunch of people that I'd rather watch the Late, Late, the Eurovision, the Rose of Tralee, & the Toy Show with.

And oh yeah, Up the Dubs !

    :D:D:D:D

Anyone watching CNN? This Anderson/Kathy odd-couple thing is getting a little formulaic and forced at this stage. It was brilliant when it was spontaneous.
