Hadn't added up the mileage for two weeks but seems I hit the 1000 mark somewhere on the streets of Leipzig on April 24th.

Hit the thousand mile mark this evening. 3 weeks earlier than last year so hopefully i can increase my yearly figure up to 2800 or thereabouts all going well.

Running streak of 9 months and change so looking good to hit the one year mark barring injury.

Damn near did a DNF in the Lakes of Killarney Marathon today @ Mile 23, glad I didnt now passed 1000 at mile 25 :)

Small fish here, started 6 weeks ago and passed 50 miles on my run yesterday it turns out, thinks there are 2 hopes of passing 1000 miles but will pop in and update from time to time.

Just past 800 for the year so far. The half, 30 mile and marathon x 2 in March/April really helped. :) I think I should get there by the end of June (12 hour ultra mid June!).

I passed 1000 miles for the year coming up to Collins Avenue on the Swords Road. Over 4 months sooner than last year :)

Woohoo! I'm in the brown :-D

First time to achieve it in the first half of the year!

    M

Very Latin! Reminds me of kids' TV shows having MCMLXXX** in their numerals. 'Hibernia' is what the Romans called the land of permanent winter (but you're obviously not hibernating). Will have to rename you mille Maximus or something on those lines.

    Well done though.

    We already have a Maximus

1K up in the first mile of my easy morning run. 3 days earlier than last year. This year also has a 10 day break from running for a holiday which I didn't have last year so very pleased with that :D

Weather was so nice this evening I went out for a rare and unplanned double run.

And relax 1000 miles for the year and no better place to hit it than my favourite place in the world, The Burren. Was a real tough course but such an enjoyable run with amazing scenery. Lying on fanore beach now chillaxing. Not sure how many weeks quicker I was this year can't check on my phone, will have to wait til I get home this evening.. Happy days

Edit: came in almost 4 weeks earlier than last year

    Just passed 500... kilometers :(

I'll be marathon training from the end of June so I actually might just make it if I don't get injured!

Passed the 1000 mile mark in todays athenry 5k race.
A little over 3 week later than last year, not to bad given I was training for conn ultra last year and the few niggles this year. Hoping to kick on from here :)

how come the default isn't km? Is it just because it's a nice, round number or would most people still use miles when training/racing around here? (just interested...)

Tradition, and most people (not me) do run in miles

After a fairly shaky start to the year (too much sickness/injury/holidaying and very little running), I finally got round to adding mine in. I've managed to get in 40-50 mpw for the last 2 months or so, so ramping up the mileage a bit for marathon training now should give me a decent shot at ~2k miles for the year.

1000 miles ;) Got my last 50 miles in about half the time of my 1st 50 so making progress. Hit 10k on a run for the first time on Monday so hopefully the mileage will continue to climb

Hit 1000 on this mornings run some 10 weeks later than last year. Injury, recovery and at times indifference it has to be said were the main factors for this. Hoping for a bit more consistency for the second half of the year.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,622 ✭✭✭Ruu

Fastest 1000 by about 2 weeks or so. Shuffled through a hot, hot 5 miles today to make it over 1000 for the year and only about 100 or so off the bigger milestone of 10000 miles in 6 years of running. One more endurance event (8hrx5k loop), one half, Berlin and NY marathons, I may finally break 2000 miles. :)

1000 miles done today - l hope I can keep it together to make 2k for the year in total.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,272 ✭✭✭donnacha

Crossed the 1,000 mile mark today on a lovely breezy lunchtime easy run. Been very lucky this year with a relatively niggle free training regime. Fingers crossed I can make the 2,000 mark by year end.

An uninterrupted streak has me at 1.7k for halfway, almost 300 ahead of last year.

1,000 breached this morning, 6 miles into a 16 miler. Happy days.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,009 ✭✭✭Firedance

Managed to make it over the 500 despite being out of action since 28th March, I'm still in with a chance to make 1,000 again this year! #optimistic

I'd forgot to keep an eye on this and just got the calculator out this evening...1198 so far!
I will stop after two miles tomorrow morning to have a celebration.:)

Passed the 1,000 mile mark yesterday during a LR in the Englischer Garten in Munich. A week earlier than last year. Marathon training starts again tomorrow so all going well might make 2,000 before the year is out.

Hit the 1000 mile mark Saturday and doubled my total milage for last year today. Had hoped to hit it a few weeks earlier but still very happy how the year is going so far.

Hit the 1000 mark midway through 8m yesterday. 3 months ahead of last year

Just crossed the 1k mile mark during a long run this morning! Ran an extra 2k to get it today instead of tomorrow!!
Only started running in late Feb, so should get to this point quicker next year*

    *subject to no major injuries

1000th mile for me today during my 12m run. Delighted to be reaching it this year.

Hit 2,000 miles towards the end of a 20 miler in the beautiful Phoenix Park this afternoon. 3 months earlier than last year!

My turn to hit the 1,000 mile mark. Done at a club session this evening in Tymon Park. Earliest in the year I have done this and better still that an injury-free streak has contributed to it. :D
